Rounds 4, 5 and 6 - Donington Park
What, no thread....
Should be an interesting weekend - the layout should suit the turbo cars in terms of outright pace, but they might struggle with tyre/brake wear in the races. Judging from Brands, all the Vectras seem to have found a new lease of life with this years turbo engine, the Hondas look to be the class of the field when it comes to a ultimate speed and the Chevys look good over a race distance. Both the new and old Focus look like strong contenders too, and I'd have a sneaky side bet on Onlsow-Cole in the Golf taking a sneaky first outright point or two for AMD - and yes, that last one is based on hope as much as expectation, but I'd love to see it happen |

How many laps will the Audi do? Do we know who's driving it this weekend?

Last year Donnington produced some fantastic racing in nearly all categories at the BTCC meeting, and I'm expecting more of the same this weekend.
I think the battle of the fords is going to be great to watch throughout the season, not least because like greg says, both the old and new models seem competitive. I'm a believer that the Golf will challenge for points this weekend in TOC's hands. As for race winners, I'll say Shedden and Neal sharing the spoils as the Honda has the edge, but only just. |

The Audi did plenty of laps in FP1 and not too slowly!

Tweet from @official888race
"We're going to be running a new driver after Qualifying. I'm not going to tell you who just yet but does anyone care to guess?" Might be a joke, considering they probably can't run another driver if they haven't entered a session. How many Chassis do 888 have now? |

Well, we'll just have to wait and see for the good news
EDIT: Another tweet: "Our mystery driver has not raced a touring car before. He had a seat fitting this morning" |

Just been watching BTCC practice 2, my boyfriend who is an engineer reckons that the NGTC Swindon engine has at least 40 to 50 bhp more than the best S2000 engine, and probably 20 more than the Ford and Honda (although he reckons the. Hondas are sandbagging quite a bit). If this is true it doesnt really seam fair, I guess that something will be done?

Shedden currently has pole on a 1:10.2.. although he was moving out of the way which led to Jackson going off at the Old Hairpin..

Wrathall in 17th right now... I think the NGTCs aren't as hapless as some thought them to be after Brands Hatch.

Neal on Pole then. Those Vectras are mighty, even Jeff Smith was up there well inside the top 10.
1 Neal 1m10.129s; 2 Shedden +0.043s; 3 Nash +0.348s; 4 Jordan +0.427s; 5 Chilton +0.608s; 6 Smith +0.945s. |

No comments on race one? Is that a measure of how interesting it was?.......

Plato has a issue with a tire. there was a start line crash that did not bring out the sc. Shedden was DQ. race 2 about to start and there are other motorsport on.

Tim Harvey is absolutely hopeless. Rob Austin was nowhere near the Griffin/Plato incident yet keeps saying he was!

The commentators are saying it was Austin, Griffin and Plato - but it was Shedden, and Griffin who made contact and sent Plato across the grass and into the bank before it rolled.

Exactly. We have the benefit of the same pictures as them, yet they can't work out what's happened. I do despair sometimes....

Things seem to have gone a bit mad in this race... thought we were going to have Foster rolling as well then. Chilton a little too keen to finish ahead of Jackson it seems too.
Collard and Onslow-Cole driving well too Last edited by Jon411; 17 Apr 2011 at 13:57. |

Now that was what you want from a motor race, crazyness from start to finish!
(Particularly after sitting through 2 hours of nothing on the "Blancpain" Endurance series ) Nice to see Plato get some karma for all the bad driving he's done over the years. Hope the marshal was ok though, scary moment but I thinkkk they were hinting he walked into the ambulance so really hope that is the case. |
