But homologation requirements aren’t country-specific, surely?

They have brought the Golf back and converted it to NGTC.

Serious head on, what on earth could have cause catastrophic understeer in JP's Levorg, a location of a key geometry point that just didn't agree with his driving style? Something that would have been picked up with more (some) intensive testing?

There's no sound.
The colours are weird. The main moment is not included. But - here's some un-seen and onboard footage from Round 1, Race 2, 2018. More of this, please - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csjOkY1pFSI |

Aren't bolt-on parts lifed or regularly rebuilt? In teams with the funds to do so. I'd imagine identical components are put on the sister cars leading me to think its something hard fixed to the shell/cage pickup points that doesn't agree with Jason's driving style? It could explain why the times and feedback were the same when Ash and JP swapped cars at the tyre test last year?
But to me it all comes down to BMR not being able to comprehensively test the thing and tune it closer to a position where he can drive it. Ash seems to be able to jump in and its a lot closer to where its working for him. |

Considering that competitions might usually be weekend tickets, a team shirt etc, I think that a car - whether it is new or used - is a pretty good prize to be up for grabs...

Exactly. Not quite as desirable as one of those 1 Series Championship Editions but still a pretty incredible prize.
