TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Closest Bathurst finish

Now I might cause a bungfight here, but I disagree with V8supercar & Ch7 claiming last years finish was the closest finish.

After watching it over & over again I reckon that the 77 finish was closest finish in Bathurst history.

Any thoughts?

Senna05 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think there is a way to delineate between them.

Closest Non-Team finish. Because 77, 84 and 2010 were all closer than last year.

Not sure about '84 - didn't the 05 car beat the 25 car by 2 laps?

Well 77 was closer in distance, last year may have been closer in time if that makes sense.

And last year was a race.

This is how it was worded

Bathurst 1000 race finishes don’t get any better or any closer than this. Garth Tander beat Craig Lowndes by a mere 0.25 seconds, the closest finish between rival teams ever (form finishes don’t count).

The term going around has been closest 'competitive' finish. Competitive used in the context that one is actively trying to beat the other. Whincup conceded the race to Lowndes in 2010 to stage a 1-2.

Yes - it was, by about half a tenth of a second or less over last year. Impressive.

The impressive bit for me was that it was no 10 lap screamer following a safety car. The last safety car was around 50 odd laps from the end.

Definitely. First time in a few years there hasn't been a safety car during the final stint and still a very close result.

Also good with the added tension of knowing they were both so close on fuel.

The term used in the Bathurst mag released for this years race is "the closest hostile finish" when referring to the 2011 race
