Looking at CER2 race and I noticed 9 non starters which seems incredibly high.
Also notice quite a large oil spill. Enjoyed this live timing.Preferred this to the BTCC. |

Nice video…*I like you driver's appreciation about trafic! I dont know to what is linked the gauge situated fourth from the left but the needle waves sometimes. Oil pressure or Accusump? Anyway great driving and perfect gearing. Let them dont worry about podium girls, Spa's are even better looking!

Zut, Mike forgot to thank you re the Crosslé. As to "radio paddock" what revs do they use withe the Cobras, are they happy, what about the newly introduced coefficient for the replicas. For how long will they recognize the federal HTP's?

Gerard, if you seriously need to know more about the Crossle, PM me and I’ll put you on to the guy that knows every car made.......
We didn’t see any coefficient being applied to continuation or replica cars. I’m not sure they’ve actually worked out how to police it yet. There was a GT40 in CER that had a ‘C’ after GT40 on the starting list and results, so whether that means something or not, I don’t know. No idea what revs the Cobras were using, or were supposed to be using , was a bit preoccupied with the SLR and B19. Luckily the rain that was looking likely kept away while packing up, just a few spots to concern us. Now heading back to northern Spain...... |

Mike because you mentioned now I see the "C". Being a French car may be it could mean either Care! or Coupé…*You never know with those people!
Be safe! 356, how was your weekend? |

You can count on Mike's experience, E.B, he won't be stucked anywhere in France!

I think Mike said he was getting the ferry from Spain, avoiding France. Or was that ferry to Spain on the way. So if he gets delayed in France he needs a new SatNav! Im sure Mike does not need to rely on SatNav given said pre-mentioned experience!

Same opinion! Mike needs no device and no one's advice to avoid France and its inhabitants. A matter of experience, feeling and "nose" too!
Why he's rather being shacked like a banana in an old cargo than shacked in his truck on a toll highway is up to him! English humor I suppose… |

Any Français normalement constitué will go for the autoroute. There's a good reason: we can't make any difference between "think" and "sink"!

Nothing wrong with driving across France, it’s great! Just crossing the channel bit that is the hassle at the moment.....
I now see that the first and second placed cars in 60s Endurance were excluded afterwards! I guess after post race scrutineering. Is that what you were referring to a few posts ago, Gerard? |

Yes Sir! What do you think… my jokes are closer than appear in the mirror of scrutiny! They already policed the Cobra batch. It took several attempt but the grass was green I'd say… Then the Cobra batch asked for full electronic ignition and got it. If some thought they could make profit to make other mods', now they proved wrong.
Just hope they won't oblige TVR owners to put a tranverse leave spring… The more we go the more I think they do many things right. Damn right. |

This thread being "safer", while it lasts and before talking kroketts, did you watch the GMT video? The orange car is you ex-Escort, right? Look, when the Castrol one takes over some differences between the two cars/drivers can be seen. The performances in the straight are not that different I find.
Back to this thread I dont know who is the gearbox builder of the Mog but, wahoo, he can't be blamed! |

You mean same arrangement as the Capri also said three rails? The Capri has two gearboxes homologated but the three rails seems the most popular. Still, I can help make the double de-clutch, bad habit from the old days…
As said, the 26R will be at Tour Auto, just before Spa. Last edited by Gerard C; 9 Apr 2019 at 07:17. |

The driver/owner of the said 26 competes in the 2.0L Cup too. He got a 42" penalty having declared himself too big valves diameter. Really honest. As to the camshaft I guess Marc is using what we had in the 2000's, the L version, the S or Carrera 6 are too brutal and dont really match a single ignition engine, imo. During our championship, many carbs were allowed and I'm probably the sole having tested Webers, Solexes, PMO's and even the crapy Zenith!

So, a chance of that 26R being slower at Spa! The valve size penalty in 911 race sounds fair. There was talk of checks being carried out after the race, but not sure if happened. Some cars already have sealed engines, and the preparers of those said that they would not be taking them apart, regardless..... |

Mention before the event of the unique Gp5 Lotus Esprit making it’s debut after restoration in CER2.
Well, it did, finished 10th o/a and came 2nd in the GT category. So congratulations to them! |

Scattered around the paddock displays and race cars were ‘Concurso de Elegancia’ display boards, and we were flattered to find that the SLR was deemed worthy of one! And factually correct as well.....

And for Gerard, the wonderful ‘period piece’ Dolomite Sprint. (My words) Looking round the car, it seemed unchanged since it raced in period. Probably the opposite of most GMT cars at Goodwood! There was also a lovely Sunbeam Alpine in 60s Endurance that appeared to be in a time warp...... Unfortunately it was also rather slow, especially after losing one cylinder during the race!

Merci Mike! Nice Dolly and fully agreed with your comment. Dont expect to find a Motorsport block under its bonnet! At least it was a finisher. Last year, the new owner had to learn about the word fragile, specially when it comes to use the overdrive not using the clutch…
Did you see what I think to be your ex-Escort at GW? Brave driver fighting against the Australian Castrol! |

Same driver/owner of this Dolly competes with a MG B. First B with a BLT of 2'21"37 compared to the 2'58"2 of the Sunbeam. Talking about GW and Sunbeams, what model is the one seen at GW, really good looking and fast too. Obviously not a Harrington. Ex Le Mans may be?

I think the Sunbeam you are referring to Gerard is the Sunbeam Tiger Lister Le Mans Coupe owned ( I think ) by Chris Beighton and driven by himself and Nigel Greensall in the Graham Hill Trophy on Sunday and is also frequently seen in the RAC Trophy Celebration races . One of three lightweight models built for the 1964 Le Mans 24 Hours , Ultimatecarpage carry a description of the cars although others on tentenths will doubtless fill in more details .

Oui, c'est exactement ce modèle! Thank you so much. We had very few of Tigers in France, last time we saw one entered in our championship was in Estoril pedaled by Martin S. I find this Lister very good looking, seems like a little Cobra Daytona. Never saw a single one before. You mention Nigel Greensall he is famous and what he does in the 2.0 Cup is ultra clean driving imo. Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MStcdsITfXs
Thanks again! |

Nigel Greensall is indeed a very quick and hugely experienced driver . My favourite memory of Nigel is the sight ( and sound ) of him setting a new lap record at the pre-chicane Castle Combe circuit in a BOSS series Tyrrell 022 at an average speed of 130.93 mph ! Ten Tenths own Mike Bell has also competed against Nigel in the GT & Sports Car Cup .
