VSCRC 2013
So round 1 has been run & won.
From the spectator side of the fence Sunday in particular seemed a bit of a shambles. I think this had to do with the lack of commentary. Quote:

- For the seond year in a row, the third Imp Prod race (second on sunday) was cancelled.
- no.23 in the historics, a mini? He was a beast in the first race, which was wet. I was watching. - Greg Crick obviously found a buyer for the Dodge. Spun coming out of the hairpin in the morning race. - I had the impression that there was more action happening at the Doohan/Southern loop corners, than there had been at a meeting for a while. Obviously, the accident between the Commodore and RX-7 topped it off. Does anyone know the consequences? - Formula Vees are so boring and need to do something to make it more entertaining to watch. There was only 7 cars battling for the lead at one point. Needs to be around 18. - There was a HQ comepting in the Sports Sedans, but it did look out of place and it didn't appear in the actual HQ races. What was going on there? - Bloke in the yellow Reynard fford? struggled in the wet at MG. I was watching - Cars I liked, but hadn't noticed before. The Group A VL in the SS, looked nice. A blue and orange fford, looked like a rf86 model. A cobra, black and orange one. It looked bigger, wilder. -Special mention to the bloke in the blue and white fford (rf92?) and the guy in the red Bluebird in the SS. Always there, always at the back. Racing just ain't fair. |

Thanks for the pics Bortall, thats one unusual safety car indeed, never seen a convertible used as a safety car ever except for a Viper at the Spa 24hrs a few years ago and that was more of a roadster

It looks like at Sandown for Round 2 on May 18th / 19th there will be FREE entry to the red hill spectator area, from turn 9 down to turn 11. No excuse not to come out and watch then!

It was opened a couple of years ago I think, however there weren't many spectators. Not to mention I would assume it costs extra to rent that area plus the security. But your right it is a great move.

Well, how about that? As soon as I thought " I can't be bothered going to Sandown anymore. I'm only going to go a meet there if you can watch at turn 9", then they open that area up! I'll be there!

Terrible tragedy for the Vicious Rumour team.
http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news...-1226637925893 I'm not sure if we'll still be running at Sandown now, I think we will, but our hearts are elsewhere right now. I don't think any public disclosure of names has happened yet, but the guy was a part timer on the Ferrari but full time on the doorslammer. So so sad. Nicest guys....... |

We will be racing to honour our lost friend. He would have wanted it. He lived and died for it.
The funeral is friday. So we'll arrive and set up but not run practice. Straight into qual on Saturday. |

I'll be heading down this week to support a mate in his first event in IP.
And I'll be trying to take in as much as I can this weekend as I'm aiming to compete in my first series at Round 3 in sportscars. |
