Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2016 WTCC Race of France

Only one week left (finally) 'till the start. As usual, preview
https://www.fiawtcc.com/race-preview...season-opener/

And track facts:
https://www.fiawtcc.com/event/race-of-france/

First time since 2013 I'm really looking forward to the season start. Impossible to predict the outcome with so many changes. Still Citroen is the favorite even with +80kg but to be honest I will be very dissapointed if they walk away with 2 easy victories again. Expect Honda to be strong and potentially lead the championship after Paul Ricard.

Stupid indeed.

Citroen will be the team to beat but have good hope Honda and Volvo can give them strong opposition.

Easter.

Most series don't race on that weekend, preferring their drivers and teams to be with their families, for those that celebrate it.

Did not used to be the case-I remember F1 at Goodwood & Pau-F2 at Thruxton

A lot has changed in that timeframe.

I don't think that's the reason. There was an important cycling race in Belgium on Sunday and World Championship Motocross and British/Belgian rallycross on Monday.

Boxing Day also used to be big for motor racing, in the UK, at any rate. But times change.

British GT have been running at Easter weekend meeting at Oulton Park for the last few years, although not this year.

I think one of the factors is that Easter was early this year, and some series don't like starting before April. Less relevant to BTCC now but FIA homologation typically starts on April 1st. Running a meeting before then means that cars had to compete under a waiver, which is always cause for potential arguements.

They are there, but not sure to able to finish the work with the cars for the qualifying (might be one of them for Ficza Ferenc Jr.)

Fear that rain might favor the Citroens with their fantastic traction.

Hopefully there will be some dry running this weekend to see where the competitors really are.

Meanwhile Lopez on top as usual

No running for Zengo Hondas as yet

So:

Zengő team doesn't have engines.

Norbi's engine from 2015 was sent too late to the Mugen to prepare it for the season, and it takes time for the Mugen.

The former Nika car's engnie wasn't sent to the Mugen yet (or they sent just in this week) so they could race only after Mugen finish to prepare these engines.

They try to get a permission to use 2016 spec engines, but earlier choose earlier to use the 2015 homologization, so it is not allowed.

Zengo to miss the first race due to engine supply issues. One car will run on Saturday but not on Sunday
