Terry largely agree but they also recognize a captive audience. Their defence will be that a passport inspection is merely a snapshot in time and that the car can change post inspection. Of course that can happen anyway!!

Yes,quite,BUT,I thought originally that would only be required after the vehicle had changed hands? At this rate,IE,shafting owners, makes me wonder how long before owners say stuff this.

The obvious answer would be for all series to self police given very few are FIA sanctioned series.
Nothing stopping them using the homologation papers as their technical spec

Agree but doubt if the FIA would say no to earning a couple of hundred thou for doing basically, nothing.

Point is that how many races are actually run under fia banner? Spa 6hr claims to be but isnt.

does the Spa 6 Hour? The only FIA sanctioned races I can think of are the Masters one for F1 and the Lurani Cup. The GT and Saloon appendix K races stopped some time ago - everything else just requires your car to run to FIA spec so whether you have the papers or not is really just a nicety.
They cant endorse your papers at scrute if you are cheating as they can in a sanctioned race. In which case most series could happily break away as there is no need (unless you have a FJ or F1) to have papers, simply a need to conform

Exactly the point.Fair enough that organisers do take the so called serious side of the paperwork, but as you say,if it aint FIA,theres not much to be done,if the car complies with its papers-wheres the problem?

Does anyone know where I could get a copy of the FIA HTP for a 1965 AMC Rambler, as it is listed as 'Form Missing'?

Think you will have to ask around when you are other side of the pond Cliff.
Sure there must be a Rambler owners club....
New project?

Thanks Mike, am investigating possibilities as have been offered a suitable 'barn find' car, but just want to know if its feasible as it would make a change from all the Mustangs & Falcon's
Who know's I may have identified the mystical 2:42 car

Not a HTP , but I have the Gp2 Homologation papers for the 1970 Rambler Javelin . But as it is a bit later it might be a different model.

For its first year it can be excused for being thin, however it had elements I liked, like Newey's collection (pity his E Type wasn't there!).
It needs an auction but I can understand why no house would commit to the first year. I hope it comes back for a second bigger and better show next year.
