The Honda NSX replacement as well as the Lexus LF-A are supposed to get V10 engines (around 5000 ccm).
And the most likely engine for the R35 GT-R would be a VQ35DETT, but I can't imagine a GT-R as new base with all the tech toys and AWD that would need to be removed for the race version. Perhaps a car based on a destroked and turbo'd Lexus SC430? The 3UZ-FE engine is used in NA form with nearly 4.5l displacement in the SuperGT car. |

Sorry, could not edit anymore. The only other thing I could think of would be a Noble/Lister collaboration with a racing M15 developed by and homologated as Lister. They use turbochargers on somewhat bigger V engines, but on the other hand side they are fairly small.
TVR uses 4l straight sixes in their Sagaris and Tuscan that could potentially be turbocharged, but aren't they broke again and about to close shop? |

According to what was being said on Top Gear back when they reviewed the GTO-3R: Yes.
V6 wouldn't really be optimal I think, but possible. Perhaps they'll just use the chassis and put another engine in. For some reason I think that a 4 litre V8 with a turbo would be quite nice. |

Tell you what, a GT1 can't come soon enough, the LMP hybrid is 20 seconds off the pace. :P

The Noble isn't front engined though.... so its not going to be them.
Front engined narrows it down. |

engine wise i think it will be the jaguar 4.2 V8 downsized to a 4.0 and twin turbocharged cant see them getting an engine of TVR and i think with the past it will atleast have something to do with jaguar hopefully since it may increase jaguars interest in motorsport again and it could tempt jaguar back into the lemans grid

I read in ths months EVO magazine TVR are ditching there own engines and buying engines in, in order to sell cars in Europe and the US.
They will NOT be GM/Ford V8's however. Guess that rules out TVR engines for the Lister. |

fogelhund is saying think with the trends, were i live (sacramento, California, U.S.A) the trend is the imports, and if the budget is 10 to 20 times greater than before the possible one i see is Nissan. i say this because A.)they don't run a F1 team (toyota, honda) and B.)they are very into the prod. racing. look at the stuff they've done with the skyline since 99-03. that is an all-wheel drive car and races only rear drive. then the 350z JGTC car is out racing now. they've poured a bunch of money into the JGTC. im going to say Nissian based chassis (350Z or R35) and driveline with a stroked VQ35DET (yes one turbo) out to 4.0L and a custom lister body

also, the time left to build a whole new car and sell 25 or 50 of them doesnt fit so im guessin the jaguar XK would make sense
