[BTCC] The 2012 BTCC Predictions Thread

[Craner Curves]

Like we did last year, make 5 predictions and see how they turn out at the season's end. No entries after the first race has started.

1. An all-NGTC car will win the title after a slowish start to the season with teething problems.
2. Jason Plato will use the word "Momentum" in as many interviews as possible.
3. The WSR BMWs will win races this year, including at least one race at Croft.
4. Rob Austin will win a race.
5. Chris James will be the first visitor to the Brands Hatch gravel traps.

1. Neal and Shedden will have one almighty falling out after two "taking each other out" incidents.
2. Thorne, Welch and Austin will end up vying for third place in the points.
3. Tom O-C will switch to the WTCC mid season.
4. Sunday at Donington will be incredibly wet.
5. Jason Plato and Mat Jackson will tie at season's end for the new-for-2012 Ten-Tenths Walker's Pork Pie with Castle Rock Harvest Pale and a couple of pickled onions Sponsor Placement Trophy.

As most of my predictions usually are way out, I include the Donington one so that I can marshal in the dry

2. MG will not be on the podium at all in the first half of the season
3. Chris James will get a top ten finish at some point this season
4. Matt Jackson will lead the drivers championship at some point
5. Gordon Sheddon will take the drivers title

1. Honda (drivers or team) will complain about being down on power
2. The main title will go to an independent driver
3. Frank Wrathall will win a race
4. Despite the reduced presence on the car, Mat Jackson will still say "kick up a gear" in an interview at least once, just out of habit
5. Everyone else will complain about the start line advantage of the RWD cars and the longer first gear will be reintroduced

3. pile up during a race weekend
4. only 1 wet race
5. new driver winning races

1. Correct. Shedden has his electrical gremlins didn't he.
2. I don't know, I always fast-forwarded through his interviews
3. Correct.
4. Couldn't be further from the truth! Very underwhelming.
5. Probably correct!

1 - yep
2 - hmm, how wrong can you be?
3 - well he left it late, but that's a yes
4 - can't remember for sure but I think he did
5 - surprisingly not

5. Sort of. Sponsor mentions are hardly at NASCAR levels but Plato managed to get KX Momentum 99 Jalapeno Sandwich with extra Bumper Tagging and Turbo Adjustment in a large number of interviews.

Will he be at 888 next year? His 'turd' comment earlier, although funny, might score against him!

1. nope - just one win all season, which is a surprise to me at least.
2. Oh dear. That was blown out of the water straight away. The MG looked like a cow, but went like a fish.
3. A pair of 12ths was the best he got. Close, but no cigar.
4. I think I got this wrong as well.
5. Yay.
