Shannons Nationals at The OP

...Apologies if there is already a thread...

A final blast this weekend, will be massive!

Really looking forward to-
* The battle in the Manufacturers Championship, will the niggle of the past few rounds blow up?
* F3- Race 1 at QR on the weekend was deadset one of the best races I have seen, ever. If Macrow and Foster can do that again at OP, we are in for a show and a half.
* 26 Sports Sedans. Whaow! That will be awesome...
* 37 Aussie Racing Cars- 8 wide and 2 high will be something to see.
* V8 Touring Cars, Steve Owen giving them a touch up?
* 21 car Saloon Car field, on the improve.
* Commodore Cup.

Will you be there??

Currently living in NSW so I plan to make my first visit to the track this weekend. Just dirty I don't have a camera to bring after breaking mine.

I've got a lens you can borrow, but no camera. Maybe if you ask Craillie really nicely he'll lend you his See you there Falc.

Yes, sir!!!! What a weekend this is shaping up to be!!!
What is the niggle in AMC you are referring to?
As for F3, don't forget Sofi - he's been quick at OP in the past.
Brett to clean up in Commodore Cup!!!!
Saloons and ARC will be great. They always turn in a great show.
But 26 Sports Sedans? For me, the most highly anticipated category of the weekend.

Usually when I look at a programme for a race weekend, there are 1/2 categories that don't tickle my fancy. Not the case this weekend. What a line-up.

Anyone know what happened to Sofi in Race 1 of F3? Did he end up getting disqualified?

He got a 33sec penalty for punting Foster coming onto the straight. It's been appealed, and will be heard before Sanwodn.

That happened straight in front of me. It was an absolutely ridiculous move. He came into the corner well behind Foster and way too fast and just drove straight into the side of him. Foster never moved over or anything on him. If they captured it on camera I would not bother appealing because it was pretty blatant from where I was standing.

Yes. I agree. Not the best move Matt could've made. But in Matt's defense, Joey had certainly been holding him up for the previous 3-4 laps.

No he hadn't - he had just caught Joey after dropping back when he and Macrow made contact at Turn 4 fighting over second.

Plus, I don't think you can call it "holding up" when you are racing for the lead - it was a silly move.

Best move of Race 1 was Foster bombing down the inside of Macrow at Turn 2 on the restart.
