Jordan Set Record Straight on Verstappen
Check out Jordan's site http://www.JordanF1.com
On the front page there is a post about Jordans thoughts on what really went wrong with the JV scenario. Sounds interesting and Jordan aren't too vague when it comes to pointing the finger at who's at fault! |

Taking it for true (f course we'd listen "to the other bell" as we say in Italy), I just wonder what hasn't Jos Verstappen already fired his manager: how long will he delay?

It must be very rare, maybe even unique, that a formula-1 team reacts in such a way to,in this case broken-down,negotiations. I personally have never heard of a case where the "dirty laundry"was so explictly exposed
Very revealing though ! love, bridget |

Perridon (CEO Trust) has just stated that Trust have cut all links to the management of Verstappen, following the reports on the Jordan website. But added also: "that they will remain firmly behind Jos a driver and will fully support him if there is a vacancy during the season..."
So the ball is in Jos'court: He has to dismiss his managementteam (Rothengatter and Vermeulen) or otherwise he will be without the sponsorship of Trust. Thats a clear message from Perridon i guess. love, bridget |

As per Bridget's post, I took the below from Jos's official Dutch site (the English version is not yet updated), put it into a translator service, and welcome you to attempt to decipher :
" (16 February 2004) zojuist trust in a press bulletin let to be possible no more faith have in the management of Jos to stumble. The high made demands in the file of the contract by the management of Jos stumble themselves to a crack in the negotiations with the Jordan Grand Prix team have conducted, for this reason thus trust that indicates with the management of the coureur to have severed the bonds. Trust has rather confirmed continue continue support behind Jos as a coureur stand and him. This applies still, only not with current management. If still possibilities want exploit occur to get hold of itself a chair during the coming season trust this chance for the full 100% and do not let miss on too high requirements of the management of Jos, thus Michel Perridon, C.E.O. of trust. The press bulletin briefly appeared after the Jordan F1 gave its vision to team on its own site concerning ricocheting the deal with Jos stumble themselves. Chance? Also in this the debt is laid entirely at management, in the person of Huub Rothengatter. We asked Rothengatter for comment on this question. âoeIk volslagen have been bewildered concerning what what I read now on the Jordan site and the contents of the press bulletin of trust. I want give now even no comment.â I talk with my Dutch associate weekly, and the above is just what our conversations are like lol. I'm pretty sure this basically means that JV's sponsors want no more to do with his management. Tricky position for him to be in. |

You might find that, due to events earlier in his career, Jos isn't able to simply walk away from his management without paying a golden goodbye

Eddie Jordan added: "It was a very sad conclusion. We had a good faith agreement with the sponsors who acted positively at all times and it is not good for the sport for such valuable people to be treated this way by an agent."
Wonder how Vodafone feel about this. The words "pot" and "kettle" seem inextricably linked. |

I think he should kick their b*tt, but i dont know if Jos is assertive enough to dismiss them, cause they seem very close personal friends as well. Should friendship prevail over finally getting a seat this season ? I dont think so. Who knows what might have happened in the last ten years if he had had a manager like Weber or Briatore. But now it all seems too late, maybe the new dutch drivers will have learned something about greediness and arrogance.

I guess the 'agent' hadn't worked out that 30% of nothing, was in fact nothing.....

Jos (read 'his management')should have chosen the privilege of driving in formula-1 at all to possibly fight his way back instead of putting on an arrogant face and asking for more money. A lot of fans are really bitterly dissappointed in Verstappen and so am I. There's only one thing to do to save his honour and that is to sack Rothengatter and Vermeulen A.S.A.P !! love, bridget |

Well given that all parties on the Verstappen team were being greedy, rather than just the management, I find that unlikely.
For someone desperately trying to stay in the worlds premier racing series, he doesn't show it at times. |

I understand that Jordan felt both Jos and Huub weren't really interested in the drive.
If Jos didn't want to take the seat then why should his fans be disappointed? No point in the team employing a driver who's heart isn't in it. |

Verstappen not being on the grid is probably the best news of 2004 so far.
