Pretty sure that's free area, or it wouldn't be happening. Even if it wasn't IMSA likely wouldn't care since engine reliability seems to be the one area they're not wanting to restrict development of.

Still running the draggy Riley-based aero. They're probably not worried so much about aero right now I presume, just getting the mechanicals in order.
Here's another angle of the intake without the engine cover on Last edited by TF110; 18 Sep 2017 at 20:17. |

Well, from what I've heard the Mazda aero is MUCH less draggy than the stock Riley aero. But even if it's just as bad, reliability is the #1 issue to tackle - you can have the fastest car on the grid, but it won't do you any good if you can't finish the race. And with the first two races of the year being endurance runs, that reliability is even MORE important.

Penske has been testing at Sebring and it seems they have been utilizing a new driver
http://sports.usatoday.com/2017/09/1...r-sports-cars/ Nothing is certain about Helio's role next year, but it looks like at least a spot for the enduros. |

No, it's from Randy Stricklin, not S365.

The page I linked to was from S365, they have their own statement as to who it is from. So the referenced page IS S365. Glad you think you are smart but the link is what I was referencing so the trademark applies to their page, they have to list all trademarks on their page but it is NOT my job to refer to all possible contributors.

Chill out, life has bigger issues than a reporter you might like or not. Be glad folks are attending tests and letting footage out for our enjoyment.

Sorry, 'fans.' It didn't seem like many enjoy the racing. Felt more like everyone had run their own racing series and knew exactly what IMSA was doing wrong |

Somehow, putting Joest stickers on it makes it look better built. Psychological of course, as it's basically the same car right now.
Can't wait to see it back next year. |

This is the video I got of the Acura DPi down in Sebring today. The car sounds pretty good, maybe like a cross between the Nissan DPi and Ford GT. Not really loud but kind of "airplaney"*.
It mostly just did a couple laps at a time and then to the pits for awhile. It spun out in turn 3 and then was in the pit for at least 45 minutes when I left. Might be having some new car braking issues as you can see in the video the car fishtailing into the hairpin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJoWleEyVTo |

I'm not sold on that Acura being good looking at all. Hopefully some minor tweaks will bring more appeal out. Also not the most exciting sound. But despite these Debbie downer comments, I am extremely excited to see them next year and the DPi class overall will be awesome. Thanks for the video!
