Any pics of the circuit at Hockenheim?

Kristoffersson is absolutely on it in the first practice. Not surprised to see Danny Way at the bottom of the times, not a bad showing from Dave Mirra though.

Way only 1 second slower than Mirra in heat 2.
Doran leading after 2 heats. Don't like the time schedule. H1 and H2 are over before you know it. |

Just read erc24.com report that after practice on Thursday night the loose surface was blown up and after watering became slippery and then threatened the DTM circuit so the track layout was changed with more tarmac and less loose. Does this still meet FIA rules on tarmac/loose % split? Photos from heats 1 and 2 with hardly any fans don't look great. Looks more GRC like, maybe why the Americans are over.

There are some stunning photos of the cars on the loose on the ERC24 Flickr page.
Better run from Way in Heat 2, encouraging sign for the MINI's. Doran seems to have some serious pace, unlucky heat two for Kristoffersson, sure he'll be back up front tomorrow! |

Highlight video up on the World Rallycross You Tube channel:
https://youtu.be/q6nzuyrJBqo Looks like quite a bit of contact, but does some to be some clean(ish) passing going on as well. Cars look great sideways on the dirt. |

Loved the commentator's "showing the DTM crowd what RX is all about". Pan to crowd, empty stands!
Other than that it looked good. A bit of work on the loose and its a custom made arena for rallycross. Yes, not a purpose built track but I bet the drivers will love racing the finals in front of packed stands. Helps to get sponsors too |

Still undecided on the track layout.
Hope it will be dry in next heats and tomorrow. |

Wouldn't it be time for a WRX dedicated APP?
Currently there's content on their site, twitter, facebook, Periscope, youtube, instagram... My Ipad is working overtime with all APPs running. |

That's a real shame for Liam Doran. We know he's not a fan favourite but he had the pace for the final there and seems to have had engine troubles. Live stream is on now.

Solberg drives superbly, but I think this years color scheme on his car is boring. Very much prefer the 2014 version.

Have to agree Hickey, Liam looked smooth and didn't seem to lose the plot when Bakkerud got ahead in the semi. I hope that he stays like it and the car is competitive for the rest of the season.

Agreed. Liam had some pace in the early heats and, as bigdick1977 said in the previous post, that was a sensible drive in the Semi. Shame the car let him down, especially after it carried on following that hit from behind. |
