Thats an excellent calender! Are we going to see grids of 10+ this season? Has reigning champion Nicolas Prost been offered any drives at all?

Nicolas Prost will be driving Le Mans Series and probably Le Mans 24h with Speedy Racing in a Lola-Aston Martin.
Crestiani and Razia are doing GP2 Asia, Onidi tested GP2, Leal will drive WSR with Prema, Khan is even "F1 testdriver". They might not be frontrunners, but their careers are progressing nicely after ES 3000. However, this also means we probably can't expect anyone of them back for next season. |

Are the rounds double-headers?

yes, two race per week-end. The format should remain the same of the previous year

I'd have thought after his promising debut at Barcelona last season, Edoardo Piscopo would be in line for a seat, but it seems he's leaning more towards Formula Master at the moment.
After his success last year, I've got a feeling Adam Khan will be back, although I suppose it would depend to a certain extent on his Renault F1 demo commitments. As for the rest of the grid, who knows? |

Fabio Onidi did a very good first half of the season last year and then disappeared... he did a good test in GP2 but if he can't make it to do the season going back in ES 3000 to fight for the title could be a good option

Wow!!! that's a news!!! We can now espect more cars on the grid! the cost for a season is much lower that World Series, Formula Master and F3 championships... then if you can also get a full GP2 season this could really help talented drivers to show off! I'm now wondering which teams will take part to the championship

Now the news is also on the series website:
www.euroseries3000.com It is explained that the deal with the sponsor is on a period of three years and it clearly states that the winner will have a FULL SEASON PAID IN GP2! |

Obviously. In fairness, you mentioned the A1GP rumour which however was never announced by Coloni himself. In fact it was denied within a couple of days or something. This prize is formally announced so it's a different case. In reality, no-one can guarantee such prizes as the experience of IFM and Honda F1 shows.

Really happy the Donington date has moved to August. Now it won't clash with WSbR at Silverstone, and will support/pair up with Superleague Formula. It should be a meeting well worth attending

New car is now official: Lola B05/52 (1st generation A1GP) will replace B02/50 gradually.
They use current ES3000 wings instead of A1GP ones. http://www.euroseries3000.com/new/news.asp?id=574 |

Well that is interesting! The last I heard was that A1GP didn't want to offload the cars in bulk in case the championship they supplied became a direct rival... the plan was to sell individual cars here and there... at least I think that was the gist of it.

Aparently it is the same monocoque as A1GP but the cars of the ES3000 must be brand new ones... so basicly A1GP organisation got it wrong
Lola has the right to sell new cars to anybody after all... even more if they are not under contract with A1GP The financial power of Coloni does quite impress me Last edited by META4; 14 Feb 2009 at 13:46. |
