I liked this photo - 8 racing cars on the grid and about 5(medical, pace car ,etc) at the back. |

Grids are small but it is highly competitive at the front with five fast drivers at least. Wonder if Hanley will end up top Brit over Bratt. He should do as much more experience but I would not put my money on it.

I agree with you, not so many cars, but still some good drivers at the front... people have been making fun of this series because the grid is small but drivers have been doing better in gp2 than world series drivers. Maldonado, Nunes, Rodriguez, Rigon have shown that they are quick and Prost Jr was a front runner in A1 GP and he is super quick in the Lola Aston Martin LMP1

I see this weekend that there is 2 qualifying sessions. Bratt had pole for race 1 & went on to take the race win...
Marco Bonanomi has pole for race 2 later on today... |

Seems Bratt is the underdog here but with three wins he must stand a chance. The cars are only a few seconds slower than the GP2 cars which means that we should see him in GP2 next year funds allowing. Lets hope we do as he seems to me to have talent. Hanley did not show so Bratt will be top Brit. Onidi and Bonanomi are fast and look most likely to win Championship but have had more reliable cars over the season allowing them to build good points.

Seems to me that it is between Onidi and Bonanomi really although Bratt has an outside chance. He is now 6 behind while Crestani is 12 behind which is too far really in my book. Interesting to see how many of them are out at the GP2 test and how they do. Reckon they should be up there as this is the fastest series below GP2. F3, WSR etc all slower.

Wasn't the prize for the title first a season in GP2 Main Series, not GP2 Asia as it now seems to be?

So Will Bratt is 2009 F3000 champion , very good for him.

Next season f3000 will costs 380.000 euro for a season , but as i understand calendar will have only 6 races. And 200.000 for a prize each one , very good move by organizators. Not that championship winner takes it all . |

[QUOTE=sauber11;2563948]So Will Bratt is 2009 F3000 champion , very good for him.
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7972/18bratt.jpg Yes, it was. But now he received free gp2 asia drive + 500.000 euro , quite fair enought. QUOTE] He won the GP Asia drive. The Euros 500,000 was to cover that. He does not get the money, just the drive. I agree, he seems to be a good driver with no budget. Same old story. Maybe a dark horse.... |
