Alpina should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well I get the new one tomorrow so it is goodbye to the sport special. 54k of totally trouble free miles. All I have replaced is front tyres and a set of brake pads. I thoroughly recommend one to everyone. The snow performance is outstanding and it is pretty good in the mud too. It has towed a transit out of a steep icy car park and on saturday it towed a wrecked Nova rally car out of a forest special stage.

Goodbye yellow Scoobaroo!

I'm guessing the new owner may be looking at a replacement clutch before too long then...

Nope. Didn't have to slip the clutch at all. Fantastically torquey engines those boxers.

Well done a few miles in the spurtwagon and very good it is too. Had to fix the washers though!
I have owned a few fast cars before but I am totally impressed with this one. I have yet to find it slower than my driving. No doubt as I get more confident I will! The brakes don't seem to be the best. Lot better than the Alpina's though.

Brakes aren't great - good first choice for upgrades.

I'm still 'growing into' my 2003 Sportwagon. I think there's an extra 'stealth' factor with the 5 dr - people don't expect you to be going that quick

Nice

'99 model year then. Which means - believe it or not - the brakes are a big improvement on the '98!

Looks good in the dark blue mica too - my Sport was that colour

But a Caravan Club Badge ?!?! Sorry old boy, but I'm somewhere to the right of Clarkson on that one...

Perhaps not the caravan club badge then but I will be towing my rally car and my new tool trailer with track day wheels and tools. (When it is built that is) The tool trailer is a new concept that began when we were left with a Reliant Rialto chassis lying in the back garden.
