Simoncelli fastest of all at the opening test of 2011? Ok, I definitely did not see that coming.

all hondas seems about on par but not much improvement from Day 1 .. Yamaha not that far apart .. but Ducati did seem to improve during the 3 days but 1 second off is a bit worrying ..

Now they're talking about Hopkins making a wildcard appearance on the Suzuki. Denning was asked and said "watch this space."

Denning is a clever guy though with spin.

Be great if it happened, but John has a lot to prove for the start od 2011.

if you look at it in plain results, he should walk BSB and it is cear he is only there with Dennings carrit of a GP ride.

Just hope he is off the booze too!

Will be very interesting to see how the Honda riders pan out over the season. If he can stay uninjured, I'd back Pedrosa - the pressure of having Stoner in the team should give him the final kick up the arse he seems to need for some reason.

I see Stoner has already learnt how to safely low-side his new Honda so we should be seeing that from time to time during the season.

But is all this going to make it "exiting & interesting" or will the season be as boring as the last couple of years when the same protagonist will be at the front with a small field behind ?

Also Alonso is god At least the Spanish press and TV get behind their bike riders. How many daily UK papers even mention anything to do with two wheels ? and when the Moto GP is on terrestrial TV it shows everything including all the qualifying & races from all the classes. Wait a minute, does the beeb do that on the red button ?

Beeb and Eurosport give a lot of coverage

But to be fair in Spain there is little else to give aurtime too? Football yes, but they dont play rugby, cricket, darts, speedway, wintersports, theya re uselss at most athletics?

All they have in Spain is motorsport and football!

We have to try and be good at everything, hence the lack of coverage when football commands more column inches than ANY OTHER form of news in the country

Well, he will get his chance. Hopkins will be the Rizla Suzuki reserve rider and will be on the bike at the Qatar test.

Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project, Ioda), 1'36.6

I have not heard Jake Gagne's name surface yet (2010 Red Bull Rookies champ).

Thought he'd be in 125 this year...

You'd think he'd get a ride there, unless he goes to the Spanish series?

When the Moto 2 riders testing, or do they do it by themselves?

MotoGP sponsors have been pretty dirt cheap really. Word a while back was that the Repsol sponsorship was worth a packet of soggy fish and chips... So i'd imagine that Yamaha would be picking up most of the tab anyway.

The Repsol boys look dominant, but I'm sure the Yamaha riders are there or there abouts. Maybe just not at this track.

And then there's Ducati, who seem lost. But hey, maybe they need a venue change also. Or not...

Seems silly to have 75% of the testing at one track.

Honda sweep all six days at Sepang, and Stoner is fastest four out of the six days.

Ducati have lots of work to do.
