I went for a short break and now the 7 is 36th. What did I miss? Did they not pit under the yellow or something? It's still listed as having done 2 stops.

Either the 4, or there was a backmarker or two kicking about there. May have turned over the nose of a lapped car. Replays were rubbish.
The #7 Church has caught the second place battle. |

Just had a good illustration of that as it chases the Lambo and Audi. The Bentley also doesn't seem to get upset by kerbs in the same way the Lambo does. Almost like it flattens them as it drives over them.

I wonder if the cooler temperatures have helped them today. In pure lap times they are probably the fastest cars out there

The one place it loses out is braking. It's braking 5-10m earlier than the Lambo, and the Lambo can brake later offline. Interesting to see.

Completely off topic, there are few Lamborghini Urus' around the circuit, I didn't realise you make a 4x4 look that cool

This time it's Grasser's turn to lose out on the sudden FCY/pit call.

63 Lambo will suffer due to this FCY. Some others such as the Porsches will lose out a little too, as they were in the pit lane when it went yellow.

I guess it's like being fired out of a cannon. The torque will fire it right up to vMax pretty quickly, and then the aerodynamics of a planet stop it going any further.

Just something to watch out for later in the race, but huge amounts of dust are being kicked onto the circuit. It's so dry that the grass is just dust. It wouldn't surprise me if we get punctures or someone sliding off. I'm sat on the inside of Bruxelles, and at least half a dozen cars a lap are touching the inside of the corner and sending a dust cloud up

There has to be some irony to all of this.
At LM24, we complained that the multiple safety cars handed the Porsche the win. But here, we see that FCY or Code 60 type regs also have drawbacks if you pit just before one. What is a good answer? The yellow procedures of all kinds seem like a lottery for track position and time gaps. |

Now its up to the #8 to gain some time to make up for the inevitable M-Sport screw up later in the race
