Agreed, besides considering supply, one must also consider the quality of the supply. I'm under the impression (wrongly??) that there is more quality in the s2000 than BTCT stock? I think it's obvious that Gow would switch to S2000 rules in '07. It would plain suicidal(??) not to. At this rate, it's not even certain there will be a '06 BTCC.

But if he agreed to lock in the rules until '07, he has to keep that promise? Unless he could convince Vauxhall to switch. OTOH, if they leave, Gow should do a forced switch? Would TD hold Gow accountable to his '07 no change to rules promise in the court of law???

As far as I know, the agreement to run the BTC T rules to the end of 2006 was between the teams. I'm not sure if it was legally binding/written down or whether it was simply a gentlemen's agreement.

The BTCC's BTCT class is unsustainable, clearly. At some point Vauxhall will get bored. I reckon there's three solutions:

- nobble the BTCT class a little further to make them truly comparable with S2000, and encourage more S2000 entries

- scrap BTCT, and go entirely S2000.

- Scrap the whole thing and exhume SCV8.

It's not substantiated, but weren't there rumors about Vauxhall pulling out at the end of '06?

I think it's tough enough trying to equalize RWD/FWD cars in S2000. Right now, to continue to tinker with the BTCT class to equalize with S2000 is a waste of time really.

Let's face it. Something MUST be done otherwise, before the new regs come in, there will be nothing left to change.
