BTCC The Annual 2016 Predictions Thread

Righty ho, we know the entry list for the 2016 season, so it's time for our 5 predictions. Make them as simple - first time winners - or as obscure - number of sponsors on Jake Hill's helmet at Knockhill - as you want!

Here's mine, which will no doubt be miles out

1) A Subaru Levorg won't complete any of the three races at Brands Hatch
2) Team HARD. will change one of their drivers at least once this season
3) Rob Austin will get a few podiums for Handy
4) Kelvin Fletcher will miss a round for filming commitments
5) MG will surprise a few people with their pace

Apologies to all the drivers I've cursed now

1. Andy Neate will fail to finish in the top 15 of the championship.
2. At least one driver will end the season with a negative score.
3. We'll have another full season with no wet races.
4. Josh Cook will win at least two races.
5. Each race at Brands Indy will be interrupted by the safety car.

1. Correct, to the point where he isn't even listed in the final standings. He must have really pee'd Mr. Gow off.
2. Correct. Mark Howard...
3. Incorrect. Race 3 at Croft was wet.
4. Incorrect, but his team mate did. Sort of.
5. Correct.

1 - Motorbase are underwhelming and pick up only 3 wins all season
2 - Donington Park race 3 sees only 3 full laps of racing
3 - Neate gets one reverse grid pole but finishes the first lap in a tyre wall
4 - Turkington outscores Plato by just 1 point
5 - It looks like another all dry season but the final 2 rounds are very, very wet...

1 Maybe not...
2 Can't actually remember but if I was right I'm sure I would have remembered it!!!
3 I'm more than happy to be wrong here
4 Perhaps I was being generous to Jason...
5 We barely saw any rain actually, pretty sure it was just that race where Ash Sutton was untouchable...

So I wasn't too successful, but what a season!!! Thank you BTCC for being amazing

BillWiskins should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1: A Subaru on the podium in Race 1, Round 1.
2: That fancy Ford engine gets a boost cut or some such, whining ensues
3: Welch looks to score good points in a reverse grid race but is taken out through no fault of his own.
4: Plato does something mildly controversial - is immediately threatened with death
5: Jordan looks strong for the first half/two thirds but ends up missing out on the title.

1. Not sure on that, maybe when Dan Lloyd was in the team for a short time!
2. Nearly, Dave Newsham's return & Abbott's qualifying reminded us of what they could achieve, so maybe claiming a point for that one.
3. Well he won it, maybe not by the margin I expected.
4. So glad to be wrong in this one.
5. Right on this one after the first weekend.

Got more right than I expected

2) at least 3 drivers will miss at least one meeting
3) Andy Neate will not finish on the podium at any race
4) one race will be red-flagged before full distance
5) at least one driver will launch a crowd-funding scheme

1) yes, thanks to Shedden staying with #52 instead of taking #1
2) Fletcher missed 2 meetings. Neate, Lloyd and Smiley left and didn't return, as did Smiley's replacement Michael Caine. Can I claim this one as a win?
3) yes
4) yes, Donington stopped one lap short thanks to James Coal-fire
5) yes, Dan Welch with his 'Save Optimus'

5/5, better than I was expecting
