HSCC Meeting at Mallory Park 3rd October
Just a note to remind you that the HSCC are holding a race meeting at Mallory Park on Sunday 3rd October.
If anyone would like to volunteer please send me a PM. I could certainly do with a few more people to do assembly area and help out on the startline (holding row boards). The meeting will comprise of all our normal series:- Classic Sports Cars Classic Racing Cars Historic Road Sports DBT/CF3 70s Road Sports Historic Formula Ford Historic Racing Saloons Historic Formula Junior Jaguar XKs The good news is that of course at Mallory sign-on is from 8.00am-9.00am and we will be finished by 6.00pm latest. Now only 8 races all of 15min duration, entries look good for all races. At present 189 entries total.

Well done to everyone concerned for getting this meeting through despite a start delayed by over an hour and a half while waiting, for whatever reason, for a replacement rescue outfit to arrive.
Even in the nasty weather we had some really good racing... |

The kerbs at the esses were soooo slippy, lots of people having a close shave. Overtaking move of the day from the blue Porsche, starting comming into the esses and ending comming out of the hairpin and 15 laps in 15mins plus lapping the whole field - Graham Dodd what a drive.
Driver of the day? JimW driving Mercia Resuce to the circuit?? |

I would like to thank two drivers in particular, firstly the clown in the E Type Jaguar (you know who you are) who drove almost a whole lap pumping oil on to the circuit in generous quantities. No excuse, had he looked in his mirror the volume of smoke should have told him to pull off.
The loopy juice award of the day went to the Alfa driver who parked his lifeless car in the middle of the circuit at the beggining of Stebbe, breathtaking in it's stupidity! These two cost us a good half hour earlier on, and and an extended soaking later. Well done. We on our post also voted for Jim ('ll fixit) The Whit as Driver of the day. Super hero status is yours. |

I would just like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for their help and patience.
I know that all the drivers really appreciated the marshals and had a good day, despite the late start. We even managed to get all the practices and races in with time left to spare. |

I was amazed how quickly the lost time was made up...super effort all round. Gave me time to enjoy a proper breakfast though so there was a silver lining

Driver of the day had to be Dan Cox in the Anglia,he was having bigger slides than Graham Dodd.

What impressed me the most was the speed of of the Jag, according to MST he averaged 76mph, which in any type of car in weather that was pretty ****ty has got to be good going.

Us mere mortals on post 4 originally opted for the number 5 formula 5000 as keeping that much power on the track was no mean feat! In the end though, the anglia won.

Another point from this meeting. Post 4 had two drivers visit us, One walked from the paddock to say hello to a marshal, the other came in via a broken driveshaft. Two drivers making the same comment of " I did'nt know there was a gravel trap here "
