Well THAT was a surprise...
I was at WHT today, with minime, and number 2 son, and what turned up in the
BRDC Secretarys Challenge, but the Rollcentre Pescarolo Judd. Anyway, just to keep things 'racy', they put a pitstop in, halfway trough a 15 lapper on the Silverstone NATIONAL circuit. Despite young Hall's charge, they finished several seconds adrift of Ollie Bryant's Jade Mk2. Mr.Hall was rewarded with a lap time of 51.45, just over 115MPH average. Piccy to come, soon... Anyway? What' it doing here? Shouldn't it be in Brazil? |

Honest answer...yes it should have been there. But as you know some teams decided it was not worth going to Brazil.
Mr. Hall himself will be there though...in a car that's quicker than that Rollcentre one. |

They were shuffling the old Pesca today at a respectable pace...
Martin Short started, then handed over to Stuart... Last edited by Tim the Grey; 5 Nov 2007 at 00:23. |

BTW, they were about 30 seconds adrift at the end according to my watch, having made up the best part of 5 seconds on the last lap! So had it been 20 laps it might have been a lot closer, still at least they got an extra 3 laps as originally it was going to be only 12 laps. Quality of the field was better this year as last year Shortie turned up with the Radical SR9 and pulled into the pits at the end of the pace car lap (yup rolling start) and gave everyone 2 laps headstart and still lapped upto 2nd place! Yes the Creation might be quicker but it's not as reliable as the Pesca/Judd package now is it! |

Exactly. Quicker if they can figure out a setup! Hopefully with two pros on board at Inter that might speed the process up. Here's hoping.

In a way it's nice to see this kind of thing. OK so they're not going to Brazil, but at least they're turning up somewhere in the world for a bit of fun - for themselves and the crowd!
BTW, I don't think 51.45 is actually that quick for this car, but I might be wrong. If it were a serious race you'd expect them to match or be closer to A1GP pace (47.809 at the September 18/19th test) Last edited by pirenzo; 5 Nov 2007 at 09:47. |

I agree; 51.45 seemed a bit slow to me, too. They just looked slower than they would normally be around the track. But there wasn't a whole lot of prep...

They didn't seem to mind...
Martin Short walked into the garage brandishing qualifying times and someone excitedly asked "so how did we do!?!" Martin replied "2nd!!", cheery as you like. Nice to see ya, Martin! |

They only got 10 mins or so practice in the morning and the traction control wasn't working.... Hence Shortie spun at Becketts on his out lap, and guess what, so did Stu !! That put a smile on Shorties face too! |

It sounds like in the UK you still have some club type races that are "special", at least to some. Bob |

The British Racing Drivers Club is invitation only, you cannot 'buy' your way in.
This race was for various well known National or International racers both past and present. We had 60s Camaro and Mustang, Can Am McLaren M1B and March 717, MGB, Ray Mallock driving one of his Dad's Clubman cars, and Martin Short brought the Pescarolo for a run... The Ginetta G50 was driven by one Laurence Tomlinson, who runs the LNT Panoz team. Yes, a clubby race, but not your average clubby race! |

It was won by a Jade "pseudo prototype" (similar to a radical type thing).
