Warning for Oulton Park 750 on the 2nd oct

just to let everyone know, who'll be going to this meet.
the M56 will be closed between J6 and J8 over that weekend
so if your coming that way your going to struggle.
best way around i can think of is M60 > M62 > M6 south to M56.
(but i'm sure others will have a better way)

Alternative for those with a bit of local knowledge or a good sat nav / map

Leave M56 at Junct 6 (Hale barns ext) head towards Wilmslow and turn right just before airport tunnels (made famous by a ferrari driven by a certain footballer) towards Ashley, then past Tatton Park to Knutsford, then onto A556 and on to Sandiway then A49 down to Oulton

A bit narrow and country lane like but probably a quicker alternative

M56 also closed the weekend after. All to do with the replacement of the bridge that takes the westbound traffic over the motorway to the Bowden roundabout so that the bridge can take the HGVs safely as its been quietly collapsing for the past few years

well i knew someone would come up with a better plan
but wouldn't the world and his wife be getting off at J6 as that's where they're closing the M56??

my way is longer, (well depends on where your coming from) but you should keep moving at a reasonable pace

Not trying to Pick a fight,

At 0'silly oclock on a saturday morning for those coming to marshal i dont think that junct 6 will be too busy (if it is I stand to be corrected) It handles a lot of traffic at rush hours normally quite well

I would not reccomend my route if towing a race trailer or if you dont know the area but i use those roads several times a week on my commute from Northwich to Manchester rather than the M56

I travel on the M56 everyday and today the matrix signs stated

"M56 J7 - J9 Weekend Closure Canceled"

So looks like all you Oulton Park M56 commuters will be just fine
