Konica 25 lapper @ Bathurst
With bathurst just around the corner, and many regular Konica drivers finding co-drives with main game teams, what will the entry list for the 25 lapper look like.
Heres my guess: 28 - Gulf Western Oil / Jayco Caravans - Matthew White 30 - Super Cheap Auto Racing - Luke Youlden 32 - Hi-Trans - Jay Verdnik 37 - Howard Racing / Weathered & Howe - Mark Howard 38 - Warrin Mining and Construction Equipment - Adam Wallis 40 - Greenfield Mowers Racing - Wayne Wakefield 46 - Holden Young Lions - Alan Gurr 56 - Actron Air / PCR - Kevin Mundy 60 - Speed FX Racing - Brad Tilley 64 - Wynns / GMAC / PPG / IRC - Tony D'Alberto 65 - Actron Air / PCR - Marcus Zukanovic 66 - Kanga Loaders / RLM - Gary MacDonald 69 - Spies Hecker Racing - Robert Jones 70 - Smiths Trucks - TBA 71 - Team Fujitsu - Owen Kelly 72 - Smiths Trucks - TBA 76 - Wastecorp - Dean Wanless 80 - Mike Olsen 4 x 4 - Mike Olsen 81 - Team Fujitsu - Jose Fernandez 83 - Howard Racing - TBA 91 - Gary Deane Constructions - Gary Deane 96 - Holden Young Lions - TBA 98 - Sydney Star Truck & Bus - Grant Elliott 111- Hydraulink Racing - Mark Porter 300- Dexion Racing - Tony Evangelou HYL have stated in press release: "HYL are testing after Sandown a very young ex Kart star/FFord driver for the Konica Minolta 25 lap race at Bathurst." That would cancel out either Gurr or Wimmer for the 25 lapper, however they are running one car in main game therfore only one in the Konica race. Who would this young star be anyway? Can anyone make any/many modifications to this list? |

I was wondering when Ben would appear again. Has anybody heard it Jamie Miller has aquired another car or is he likely to after the fire.

Bens car has had the engine rebuilt, new brakes, diff and gearbox overhaul. So it is ready to go. I am in the process of working out the new livery.
He is also running in the FF race in a 04 Mygale |

mtpanorama,
Presumably Ben's VX is running with the mechanicals from his ex Pretty VS. What is the history of the VX? |

Ah well that explains why I heard that the 38 car was not for sale now but was being leased. |

I think Ben's car is the ex Pepsi McDougall car.
GTR, Drew Price and John Faulkner go back to the TTA Corolla days at least so he could be the one. Is there a chance that an ex Karter might get a run in one of the DJR cars (#71)? |

I believe McLean is racing also.
Would Wimmer get a drive, and Gurr in a second Morris mobile? |

Mr Gurr was down to drive #46 in the 25 lapper, but since that car is now on main race duties, perhaps he will run in #96 instead....

Don't know if there will be 2 Smith's Trucks entries given that they have a VX and a VY (correct me if I am wrong).

Smith's Trucks started the year with 2 VXs. The car Lee Holdsworth car was built by Gibson Motorsport at the beginning of 00 as chassis 010. It was raced by Paul Dumbrell in the 01 Konica series, Robert Smith in 02 and Owen Kelly in 03.
Alan Gurr's VX was built by Paul Morris Motorsport in 02 and named 'Bamm Bamm'. It 1st raced for Smith's at Bathurst last year but was written off in an accident at the Adelaide Konica round this year. Perhaps it has now been rebuilt. |

Thanks mtp, I was told it was for sale at Mallala (someone was looking at buying it) & then about a week later that it wasn't for sale, it was being leased to someone for 2005.
Hey there are plenty for sale at the moment, a good buyers market for 2005 |

Paul Morris cannot run a car in the Konica Minolta Race as he does not have a VX Commodore to use. Similarly wiht the Smiths Trucks car. The ex. Paul Morris Bamm Bamm car is now a VY so it cannot run in the Konica race.
The Eggleston car is the ex. Dougal McDougall car from years gone by. Built by Larry Perkins at the start of 1999 initially for Wayne Gardner. Dougal destroyed his own VS Commodore at Phillip Island, then moved into Gardner's VT. Larry built Gardner a new VT for the enduros of 1999. |

Mark Papendell is S.A based plumber who used to race Commodore Cup and Future Tourers.
Shane Price has some tie up with karting whiz Drew Price,(I think). |

Nothing wrong with a young girl wanting to race. She looks big enough to start in Karts now.
