I'm conscious that I haven't added my congratulations to the tenthers, so a big well done to them.

I'm only slightly jealous.

I hitched a ride back to the motorhome in it once when the French technocrats decided I needed a helmet to sit on a trailer behind a quad and wasn't too inspired by the walk in the temp we had. What a great bit of kit!!

John,

These are really great atmospheric shots - I look at them and it feels to me like I have been there. The night shots are very strong in that respect.

Is the silver Ferrari - 17 - the one that was quite badly bent at Silverstone back in May when testing the strength of the new (future) pit wall?

If so it looks like someone has fixed it rather well in the intervening period.

Race 13 - Plateau 3 (R3)

Sorry Grant, can't answer about the Ferrari.

I'm afraid that after the last race above we really had to get some kip, so retired to sleep in the car (we were'nt going back to the hotel in Laval that's for sure) for about 3 hours, so we missed 3 races - I'm sure that JR won't be best pleased as he had a lot of interest in the Plateaux 1 & 2, but we had been up 22 hours. So this was the next lot:-

Brilliant shots John, you may not have a big flash but the night shots in the pits and the panning shots are excellent

Here's one of our motley crew on Friday

and one with me in it, I'm the one in the Union Jack waistcoat and bow tie.

Love the close encounter one, that must have been really scary for the drivers, as I doubt sideways viz is very good in those cars with a full face helmet,

The Fuggle Rocks, an inspired coice of paddock transport, only matched by Toms matching Vega's, but thats an acquired taste of mine!

Fuggle reverses like a cow, goes like a slug, steers like a barge and stopped suprisingly well under pressure, a proper car!

Sorry, doesn't look I got many from Plateau 1.

I have got one of a Monsieur Cointreau in an Allard J2, excellent name for a Frenchman.

And they're UP !

OK finally done the first sort of the photos, there's 552 of them (62 pages) sorry if thats too many but if anyone sees their car then I thought I'd give them as many options as possible. I haven't edited most of the pictures so there's some tweaking can be done.

Enjoy http://www.willfly.net/photography/LeMansClassic2010/

I looked at these, chuckled, and started humming the usual tune about Englishmen and the mid-day sun ...

Good stuff old boy. I assume the locals were all wearing berets?
