Acura ARX-01b

Well it seems that Yves will have at least Acura as a customer next year. link I wonder if the rest of the bits and pieces will be for sale from Acura or if it will only be proprietary for the teams involved. Also from the sound of the article I wonder if Fernandez will be in an 01b, as they (Acura) concentrate on serviceability of the new car, or on their own? Also does this mean they deem the current tub viable and might retain it to build the 01b on or are they going for a new design from Courage, different pick-up points and such to make it easier to componentize the car for ease of repair etc..?

Also with not building the tub themselves for 08 just why do they have their panties in a bunch? It IMO seems to be enough lead time to design a coupe as well as if it were a roadster, but then again in the article it seemed as if Clarke was backpeddling on his stand a little, and that it might actually be liveable if the coupe is mandated in P-1.

L.P.

Maybe an upgraded Courage LC75 tub? Courage is usually really good about developing their cars...

I imagine that it will simply be the ARX-01as upgraded, but the question becomes will they use this year's chassis and upgrade them, or ask Courage to build them a few more, for Fernandez and possibly more.

QFT! The Mugen engine programme was a disaster and what better way to repay Courage for providing a competitive chassis?

dj4monie is heading for a stewards' enquiry!
I would love to see Yves get a fair shot and that is with a manufacture that is SERIOUS about winning and with LMP2 part 2 next year and a all new car from Courage when Yves doesn't have to cut corners, it will see a revolutionary car from Courage Competition.

Could we see 4 Acura LMP's at Le Mans?

Ohhh ..... i like the sound of that .

That would be one hell of a popular win , but Mister Courage wins that elusive overall win !!!

Why not ..... Audi and others use subcontracters , so why not use Courage . They always build a good car , just maybe dont have the wedge to finely tune it so much ..... and have a lot of experiance especially with respect to Le Mans .

In my mind , if they are going to stick with Courage , they should maybe give some thought to letting them run theri European effort

This is a Courage like the Audi R8 was a Dallara. Good for Yves, but it's a subcontractor deal. Yves is a parts supplier, the part in this case being a tub. Yes it is very good for Courage, any business is. But it's not going to be badged as a Courage any more than it is now.

I doubt any Acura engines are being shipped to France. I rather think that Courage tubs are being shipped to the US.
