Me, I'm the resident Northerner - as you'd quickly work out if you read what some people post in here Lancashire actually. You might find my age somewhere on the forums as well...

Hi Sodemo and welcome

Count me in as another resident Northern female who enjoys BTCC meetings and gets trackside as often as possible!

Hope to see you sometime during the coming season.

Just you watch it Mr Antill, I could really start to dislike you And here I was hoping that your new years resolution might have been to actually try to be nice to people....

I have to say I also class myself as a 'lady' but the age is somewhat older than Carrie.

I might have been dragged to my first couple of meetings but once I clapped my eyes on Derek Warwick I now do all the dragging (and have been known to go without the hubby).

Hehe. Not all girlies are dragged to the circuit. There is a breed of female motorsport fans and nothing can keep us away. And I can honestly say that I have never gone to a race because I fancied a driver. It's been purely to enjoy the racing and also to meet this rowdy rabble in the past two years.

I think increasingly the motivation behind going to the races is to meet up with the gang I only went to one meeting on my own this year - Oulton for the Powertour and it just didn't seem right to be there on my own without the gang.

That picture was taken purely to get Woody jealous cos she didn't believe that Matt Neal was there. The bloke is too tall!

I have a few other photos from that party, but i'm under strict instructions not to post them...

Did anyone realise that the hospitality building we were holed out in was actually the same one as the Touring Car VIP club uses ? Methinks we should go sign up for that if we're gonna get to use that every weekend...

It's interesting that there are so many lady racing fans over there in the UK. Here in Oz, most of the few females you see spectating at Touring Car meetings have been dragged there by their boyfriend/hubby and they don't look too happy about it. Hmmmm why is it so?

I think I had better rephrase my comment.

I don't fancy the drivers - most of them are young enough to be my kids - it's just that I know very little about the makes, models, engines, performance, handling etc etc and so I watch drivers drive not cars going round.

It also makes life interesting when a driver you do follow is extremely approachable like Derek, Rick & Maxi. There is no way you could ever get me to cheer for Menu or Reid - they are 2 complete a***holes.

So when my hubby says the Vauxhalls are doing well - to me JP and YM are pulling their fingers out.

Indeed Woody is the Matt Neal fan. I am a Muller fan and purely because I love his style of driving. I have followed him since he came over to the BTCC with Audi.
