On a related subject the factory Zytek could on its way to a US team, possibly with a 4l V8.

Same for the Jota chassis.

Zytek should have a new chassis for Le Mans 2006, as their current car will not be legal.

I dont think Creation will be Fab, they are converting their car to 2006 specifcation so they can run in the LMES. Zytek however is another matter as JAG has said the car could be on its way to the ALMS, same applies for the Jota, they are currently looking for buyers for their car.

Since it'll be good for at least a year in ALMS, I think a Zytek would be a great 2nd-hand buy for any team in America looking to purchase - performance-wise anyways.

I agree and I don't

On the one hand, yes, a competitive package to step into, and probably favorable rate to do so, but on the other hand the limited future lifespan makes me say the money may be better spent on something like a Riley, where your development keeps rolling forward. All that said, I hope one or more are on their way to both finish the ALMS season here and compete in all races next year. Just outstanding cars.

Listening to Mark Cole on Motors TV, he said Zytek would build a hybrid next year for the LMES.

He also said no Zytek at PLM and no Creation at PLM.

Are the ALMS keeping the current regs for one, or two more years?

for the sake of some decent cars in need of a few wins, I hope it's 2 years in the ALMS - they're supporting the old prototypes for longer - what about hybrids? how long will they keep them?

Hybrids will be allowed for one year longer than the current cars, however long they have left in the ALMS.

If current cars are give two extra years in the ALMS, a hybrid Zytek would have a lifespan of three years.

Well then, it starts to look like a good investment, and with the 4 litre on the way, even more so.

Here's hoping this all works out and we do see one or more for ALMS.

Believe only team statements. They'll know whether they're going or not (probably)

I'm sure they'd all like to go to PLM.

Its all a question of finance and whether that money is better spent on their 2006 challenger.

As Creation does concentrate on the Hybrid for 06 ,I think PLM and luguna also depends on :will they win in istanbul?
there might be someone converting the zytek or the Jota zytek to Creations Hybrid spec....why not this would surely be a very attractive possibility for a potential buyer
of the two Zytek chassis.

KWM the technical partner of Creation has aquired the original Reynard 02S windtunnelmodel .
I´d say Creation is right on target with their hybrid plans for 06 ,as they now can establish a true baseline with their ontrack findings of the last years relating to the windtunnelmodel and then relating back these to the hybrid they will build.
A cool move by those involved as 06 will surely be the last year a outfit of Creations stature has a half chance of pulling a big surprise at the RACE.

The acquisition of the 02S model is significant in that now they have most of the costly bits to assemble a new wind tunnel model. Things like the spine and wheels should carry over easily and therefore they don't have the spend $$$. I wouldn't think there is any relavence to using the 02S model in and if itself to compare to anything they've done up to now, they will simply use it to build up their new hybrid (also to add, Salter most definetley already has 02S aero data).

A lack of interest which I think is a combination of budget and not trusting the hardware to get them to the finish, which is a feeling one can't fault them for. It will be interesting to see if their feelings on the matter change slightly should their new hardware (when they get it) seem more up to the 24 hour task.

Dyson has both the budget and interest to go to LeMans... they don't have the equipment and feel it would be a waste of time and resources.

My conversations with Dyson indicate little interest over the past couple years due to the politics involved with anything the ACO is involved with. They certainly have the expertise and Rob definitely can afford it. It is true the current cars would have little hope in a 24 hr race.

Back to Creation & the Hybrid....

If the Hybrid is eligible for only one season now (next year) in LMES, why would they spend this kind of money to convert it when an total new specs car would have more shelf life???

Unless they plan to race in the ALMS next year....
