I'd rather Rider back, or even Grim Jim. The BBC just don't have many good sports presenters anymore. Most are young and don't have much of a personality or presence/gravitas. And the Beeb in general is too dumbed down - Humphrey personifies that for me, hence why I don't like him |

I think its Jake Humphrey + EJ and DC that make him look as good as he appears to be seen.

So you think the problem is the BBC being dumbed down and then say that Jim Rosenthal would be a step up.
Christ almighty. |

I like Jake Humphrey because he doesn't take himself or the sport too seriously.

The beeb may be 'dumbed down' compared to the BBC of yesteryear, but that doesn't mean that The Jim would help. Current BBC is certainly a step ahead of any era ITV. I think Jake is doing well. He hits the right tone. Yes his background is kids TV, but that doesn't mean he isn't suitable. I morn the days of presenters being professional TV people throughout their career rather than having a proper (non Media Studies) background. However I think it is unfair to hold Jake up as an example of a bad one. Still the BBC F1 website remains as bad as ever. |
