According to http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=26509 the Bentley W12 has to go through some very tough reliability test.

Indeed, engine reliability is a priority for Bentley. One of its durability tests for the W12 unit involves four 100-hour sessions at full throttle. That's the equivalent of nearly 20,000 miles (32,000km in new money) at over 200mph. Another is the scuff test, in which the engine is wound up to the rev limiter 100 times within 30 seconds of a -10 degree centigrade ambient temperature start.
The article also explains that a more powerful version (650 hp) of the W12 engine is in the pipeline.

Mt. Lynx should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

The presented prototype is based on the GT Speed. In the last (or second to last) issue of Racetech Mag, there was a lengthy interview that stated that the engine was not decided yet. And besides, there are no rule in GT3 that states that they have to use the engine from the homolgated chassis, only that they have to use an inhouse massproduced (well...) engine. The Z4 GT3 runs a V8 (the M3 GTE V8 to be exact). See many streetlegal Z4´s with V8´s?

My bet is that Bentley will opt for the lighter V8.

That concerns the roadcar engine.

This week's Autosport has a story that M-Sport will be building GT3 Continental, up to their debut late in 2013.
No word on building customer cars after that, as yet.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the car make it's public debut at next month's Goodwood Festival of Speed as a runner, not just on static display.

Over 1000kg taken off. My guess is around 1050-1100kg gone from the Continental GT. That would put this at 1225-1275kg.

Wonder if any of the technology from this 42 liter V-12 Packard/Bentley engine with 1500 HP will carry over?

It does have the big wheels and a Little Honking Fin.

So that's the seats and door trims taken off then!
I did say this a while back... Strip out the trim and that's a ton saved.

Will be following the car's progress keenly. It's a lump - but it's the kind of car that makes me want to go to a race track and check it out.

Disappointed it won't be at British GT's final round, but good to see it entered for something at last. The whole programme so far has been carried out with class and a high degree of transparency and looking forward to its debut - let's hope they can sort out streaming for the event this year.
