Will make no real difference to V8SC in terms of attendances but is sad to see their supports weakened.

For Shannons it is great news and will see some increased attendances if it is well promoted. Anything that strengthens motor sport events in this country is a win for every fan as is anything that helps change the idea that only V8 events matter.

For TCM fans it gives them a chance to see the category cheaper and in a more relaxed old school style environment so that is a big plus.

For the teams and drivers - hard to tell at this point, it is reduced exposure not being at so many big events but it will probably be more free to air telecast time

Bugga!

Sweet looking race car.

Those of us who can remember local speedway ace Cees Hendricks on the asphalt at Latrobe in the red Monza in the late 70's!

Touring Car Masters
TV: We'd like to clarify the situation regarding TV this weekend.

Though Touring Car Masters was invited to be part of the TV package for Phillip Island, budgetary constraints ensured we were unable to take it. Instead, our focus is now on 2016: We apologise for not being able to bring you TV coverage this weekend.

However, we are proud to confirm that at 5 V8 Supercars rounds next year we will have coverage on FOX Motorsport, with two featuring additional free-to-air coverage of races on Channel Ten. Additionally, every round next year will have TV coverage.

Our full calendar will be confirmed early this week and we're proud of the package we've put together with V8 Supercars and several key other events.

Thanks to our fans and supporters for their feedback and support - we love your passion for TCM. — at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit

Well done to the evergreen John Bowe for winning his 4th TCM championship aboard both a Holden & a Ford, from the evergreen Jim Richards in his AMC...

That's one of the things wrong with motorsport here. They have coverage of every Formula 4 race, with a 10 car grid, and it's as boring as hell to watch, yet the class everyone wants to watch and which has a big following, have to pay to get airtime and obviously it's not cheap and they can't afford it every time and the fans miss out. I'm going to guess that the F4 coverage is funded by CAMS as F$ is a national category like V8SC, but TCM isn't.

Quite ironic he gave the keys to the Mustang to Jnr Johnson because he thought he had no chance after his trip to Fiji missing Symmons... and still wins it

The F4s haven't been terrible to watch, but there is NO WAY an ASN should be owning cars or funding a class like that, its a terrible, terrible idea.

Yes the F4 racing has been very good especially on tracks like PI where they seemed able to pass with the tow, however I agree it is not right to not show all support categories on Foxtel because we were told support categories would be shown when we signed up to Foxtel.

The sporting and regulatory parts of sport have to be kept seperate so as to avoid conflicts of interest. Someone could probably make a case to the competition regulator.

Max Mosley used to talk about this a lot

Sounds like a case for class action- false and misleading sales information?

The MAJOR problem for TCM is that it has become ridiculously expensive and seemingly completely out of proportion to its aims.

It seems to always start the year with a flourish but then peters out.

As example, at the very first race in 2015 there were 25 competitors.
They ended up there were ONLY 6 that competed at all 8 rounds.
Pretty poor for a national championship.

TCM averaged 22 cars per round last year, with a high of 25 and a low of 20, which in this day and age is not poor for a national championship.

I'm guessing that his ballast and rev limit handicap apply to him in the Mustang and not in the Torana and that when Junior ran the Mustang end of last year he was easy able to claim lap records off Bowe in the same car so I guess that the restrictions on the Mustang were lifted when Johnson was the driver .

How is it that Ritter is described as having a "perfect score" of points when he finished 13th in race 3.
