i wanna learn how to fix cars and race them!!!
i have been thinking about this alot and have decided that i would love to learn more about cars! and for the last few weeks have learnt a bit from a good friend of mine! im so interested in doin an apprenticeship or something! becasue i want to learn about cars and how to fix them and eventually race them! im so interested! how do i get into it??

racing
well im 16 and a girl lol and currently have no qualifications in racing but am really interested so im gonna try to get an apprenticeship to learn about cars and how to fix them and then hopefully one day i will get to race! what do you reckon? think it will work?

Or you could go and work for a local team, such as Pete Chambers racing - Formula Ford (Pershore), Team Dynamics Touring Cars (Pershore), Active motorsport - Rallying (you guessed it!) alos Kevin MIlls is near Gloucester I think - who are big in Formula Ford. pm me if you want their contact details.

SilverstoneGP.....Try for an apprenticeship with road cars first, that way you will be more employable if you get sick of the long hours poor pay and insecurity in motor racing. Good luck.

Not sure if she is still there but Eurotek in Formula Renault had a lady engineer working for them and very good at her job too.
As StephenRae says you may want to get an apprenticeship on road cars for the regular pay, however if you are prepared to put lots of hours and determination in you could do both. Pete Chambers and Keven Mills F Ford teams (already mentioned) are also very friendly and approachable over race weekends so why not have a chat with them. Pete and his wife both work for their team all weekend. |

im doing a motorsports engineering degree, which is more the design side of things but obviously the mechanics side of things are important and ive learnt them as well
there are a few universitys that do degrees like this now, some and degree and some at hnd level |

When I am not the Bishop I am involved in running Cranfield's postgraduate motorsport programme www.motorsport.cranfield.ac.uk Macmot has suggested the National College for Motorsport and I would recommend you make contact with them. Eric Newell, ex-Cosworth is the Director. Working alongside AMRA and the BRDC I have had a number of meetings with Eric and he's very approachable. As to women in motorsport this is an intiative that we support here at Cranfield. Several of our female postgraduates are working in motorsport and we are backing a number teams. On our website you will see a link to Co Racing. Why not contact them to get some experience.

Have you thought of asking at silverstone race school. thay might need a spare pair of hands to help out, at least you can learn more and perhaps get the chance to go out in the cars with instructors and you will see if it is also what you realy want to do

Last year when I really needed a job, they wouldnt give me one because they said i was overqualified.
