leecostelloracing should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I am a big fan of barry barnes he was a ledgend and a gentleman I have a picture of him when he raced the ottermill white escort mk1
I opened a thread couple years back
He was a hard working fella who just wanted to race much like us all sadly passed on with cancer
Unfortunately I speak for him an everyone who has passed on like that cancer seems to hit the wrong people he will sadly be missed by everyone
R.I.P. Barry barnes a true club racing hero
Iam going to have his name put on my escort as a tribute to a superb fella
Its only right I think

I have received information from a reliable but banned source to the effect that Barry Barnes's Skoda was based on a Lenham S2000. This makes a lot of sense, as a number of the lesser S2000 manufacturers produced spaceframe machines for the formula.

Rob Mason's 1979 Stiletto-Hart was based on a spaceframe Elden S2000, and a right heap of manure the base car was too!

Hi Jason, I knew Barry quite well aound 1975/78.when he was racing in his escort, he had a mechanic called ginger, was that your dad by any chance? anyway i did post a couple of photo's on here of my Mazda Chev super saloon, one shows a white Skoda that may be Barry,at Brands, i think someone suggested it could have been although i dont know for sure.
Look in 70's super saloon thread under my name, if no luck let me know and i will let you have a copy by post.
Good luck.

Hi I'm new on here so bear with me a likkle. The skoda that BVB built was not the Chris Meek/Alec Poole/Tony Dickinson car. It may have been an early maguire car with a 1300 BDA.
The Meek/Poole/Dickinson car was designed by Ray Jessop and eventually owned by my father after Tony Dickinson. Does anyone out there know of it's existance today?

The Barry Barnes Skoda with 1300BDA was built on a Lenham S2000 chassis.
