The inaugural ASCAR Season in 2001 originally featured 6 non-Championship events, only the first of those at Rockingham took place and the following drivers only appeared at said event, Steve Hitchins, Colin Blower, Justin Foley, Mark Preston, Michael Smith and Aaron Slight. John Cleland also took part only in said non-Championship but was meant to compete in the actual Championship events only to withdraw from the series.

After a one-off return to NASCAR in 1993, Neil Bonnett was due to contest at least 5 rounds of the 1994 NASCAR Season, only to be killed in practice for that year's Daytona 500.

Derek Warwick was reported to be considering a possible NASCAR drive towards the end of 1993 or 1994.
