Pretty sure it is like the 12 hour, a set time start / finish, with no minimum lap number. Weather / SC / Red Flag interruptions are a pot luck thing where you either lose laps or you dont.
Its an 11.15am start with 5:15pm finish end of story, last lap is the last lap started before the clock gets to 5:15pm.
Same story with any timed race from LM24 down.

Edit: Mind you I have no idea what happens in the case of a delayed start for weather etc, whether it would run until 5:15 or the full 6 hours. I guess that would be something dependant on the TV deal with broadcasters having to go to News and stuff.

I took the question as a belated April Fool's Day Joke.

The thing about everyone wanting to see live coverage of sport is having to deal with the weaknesses of it. The shortened Excel race highlights this.

Seems there’s quite a few issues the the MRF tyres & failures - I’ve never heard race tyres squeal so much!

BMW's need some competition.....a Cayman or a new Supra....either that or make them run the M2 in A1, and delete the X Class....otherwise have enjoyed the race.

What pressures were they running? How hard did they go on them?
The #95 class winning Mustang apparently ran the race on 6 of them.. a big heavy V8 with plenty of wheel spin if driven unsympathetically...

Loved the interview of one of team managers absolutely ripping into the tyres saying they ruined the race, were dangerous, basically total rubbish..
And this only a few minutes after a fluff piece with the tyre company rep, who were one of the event sponsors

Likewise had little chuckle with the MRF Tyre rep infomercial.

One complaint re the telecast, twice that I saw they had Mark Barretta interviewing someone when a major incident happened, (crash of Denyer Mustang, Bowe Commodore fire in pits) and they continued with the interview for at last another minute rather than quickly cutting to the commentators and the live action.
