Good to hear all is well. I assume that in the current age a Scalextric set for Xmas would not be considered a sexist gesture? |

Congratulations to the Simms family.
I was round at a well known racing drivers house who lives locally and has two daughters. In his garage was a junior go cart, and I asked why he had it and he replied that he had brought it just in case his daughters might have been interested in racing. It never got used. Benn, I am sure he would be interested in selling it. Have a happy Christmas which I am sure you will do, even if you do not get much sleep. Regards Trotty |

Many congrats, Benn and to your good Lady.
Hope that you don't mind me creating a new thread since it has nothing to do with the Classic F3 AGM thread! To avoid your embarrassment, I accept full responsibility for the thread/post title! |

Hi Benn, Fantastic news.
Congrats to you and Heidi. Enjoy the moment with Mimi as they grow up too fast and cost more than racing!!!! Best wishes for a very happy Xmas Richard R |

No no - but there is a belief that some ladies can be a little troubled in the 'spacial awareness' department so Scalextric provides an opportunity for checking that and providing remedial development if necessary before before moving on the additional challenge of radio control.
Actually I have always found real driving far easier than anything to do with radio control - though I will admit to getting very little practice with the latter. So you might be better off checking out the Go Kart Richard T mentioned .... |

Congratulations Benn. Our own youngest, Freddie completes his first half year in a couple more days - we think it's nearly time for us to get a decent night's sleep - except that he's starting to teeth ... not trying to upset you or anything!
You'll be pleased to hear that our 3.5yr old Emily is an enthusiastic race-supporter. In fact she asked Mummy if she could stay up late last Saturday so that she could welcome me back with the TR5, which has been away for 18 months for, shall we say, 'remedial' work ... as soon as i got home, she came running out and gave the car a kiss ... then she ran back inside, pretty much ignoring me! Have fun, they're priceless! James |

COngrats!
My mothers name's Amelia, my niece calls her Mimi, which I thought was odd as I'd never heard it before. We've taught Arthur to call her Grandma Amelia . . .she doesn't like being called Grandma |
