The (not very Global) Global Rallycross Championship is back again, dates are as follows at present:

Hmm, the only interesting place is the 'US military base.' Wonder which one they use? Here, maybe? (Though it isn't a current base.)

Looks like some of these events clash with the RX calendar.

El Toro was my first thought as well, especially given Block's history with the place.

I just noticed as well, I don't think the GRC is part of this years X-Games?

The X Games is missing. Is ESPN replacing rallycross for pickup trucks?

New York and Charlotte is out too. It seems that Daytona is the only oval left.

Nothing to do with NBC. With so many one-off entries at X Games and a 12-race schedule regardless, it doesn't make sense for what is essentially an all-star event to be scored for points.

RE: the continued cynicism around the word "global." It should be noted that GRC was the first rallycross series to contest a proper "global" championship with rounds in South America, Europe, and North America in 2013.

I don't want to be rude but it wasn't "global" before that and it hasn't been after either. Sure it was the first rallycross championship to be around the world but that does not matter if it isn't "global" now

Well us Yanks still buy cars and unless/until WRX puts a round south of Canada and north of Panama (and/or Citroen starts selling cars here) I think there'll be plenty of room for both series.

I'm quite curious as to where the military base will be. Somewhere in the Carolinas, perhaps, since they're not running Charlotte this year? The way the calendar's basically split into an eastern and western swing I don't imagine they'd go from Daytona to El Toro to Detroit--but I guess we won't know til we get that far...

Subaru announced their drivers.

Sverre Isachsen and Bucky Lasek will lead the charge for the team’s rallycross efforts in 2015.

Travis Pastrana will join the team at select rally and rallycross events in 2015.

I can't wait to see how the Beetles do this year in their first full season.

It still amazes me how quick these cars are- 0-60 in 2.1 seconds is insane.

Definitely prefer that to last years livery: just not keen on the car the livery is applied to!

Hope that Foust uses a Polo again if he makes any European appearances in 2015.

Me too. I've never been a fan of Beetles, and the Polo is a very capable platform. The Beetles are a bit... gimmicky.

Pretty sure it's all down to marketing--kinda surprised they didn't use the GTI, which has a bit more of a sporting reputation, but no way they'd use the Polo full-time since they don't sell Polos here.

Chip Ganassi Racing will field a pair of M-Sport Fiesta's in 2015, driven by Steve Arpin and Brian Deegan. Arpin will do the full season, Deegan will do seven rounds:

That's a shame. Arguably the best engineered cars going to America and not being seen in the WRX
