Not a particularly productive week with the projects but moving forward- just doesn't look like it!
Have sorted out exactly which bits of the MTX will go to be crack tested, certified and who will be doing it. Just need to get them off car and labelled up before sending off. The FIA rules don't include under 2 litre sports racers but am following 'Appendix III' anyway. The Mk2 RS2 refuelling drybreak fittings came from Mocal and these have gone off to AH for inclusion in the 'endurance' tank. Also the fittings and Tuff Jugs for 924 are here so am finishing off the filler system for that. During week had race tyres fitted to the new black Compos- they look very against the orange bodywork. For running in on March 4th will revert to the other wheels and Colway Formulas car came with. Then they can come off, wheels will be painted black and other Toyos put on. Also got new injectors, fitted them and ran engine up to full temperature again. Seems OK but will be happier when timing and mixture checked properly! Oh, and aerosol paint also here so can see if matches when I spray front bumper and headlamp panel! |

I am just going out to workshop. Con rods arrived so i can fit the very very expensive Arias pistons and should get Toyota bottom end finished tomorrow. Mrs Delta going out tomorrow night so unless I spend the evening watching Daytona 24 hour then good chance I will have the head on. Cheers all.

924
just finished stripping all the sound deadening from the interior floorpan so allowed myself an early finish tonight; just as well seeing how cold it is
good news on the ticker front - cardiologist reckons my murmur's insignificant and nothing worth worrying or doing anything about so hopefully I'll be out in March not just team gofer :-) |

My winter project is just starting. The Dreossi Special is finally back in Canada! A little damage to the shift linkage at the back, but otherwise ok.

Yes Iain- what sort of Gp1 RS2000 is this you're building Did you think using idfs would fool us?........
David, good news from the cardio. Where are you out in march? Doug, welcome again. I was one of the thousands privileged to see the Dreossi special at Goodwood and then again at Spa so good to see it is back home safe and sound (just about). Let us know what is planned for this coming season! |

That's one of the best things about 10/10ths.Wake up in the morning and start the day with some good news. This morning there are two bits of good news. David's ticker is OK. and Dougie's race car is back at his home. Good news all round.BTW Toyota for the March F3.I'm afraid the escort now comes to a grinding halt as I have run out of money and time.Hopefully I will get back on the build once the season gets on its way .Till then.

Brother Robin has also had a heart murmur since birth, just had a complete overhaul in Italy and given a clean bill of health, murmur caused by premature birth according to the specialist.
Update on Escort, body shell now in etch primer and taken to body shop to have front panel and wings fitted, hopefully back early next week for painting then the good bit starts when the assembly starts, realy looking foreward to that part. |

I had Rheumatic Fever when I was 7, spent months in hospital, and they reckoned it left me with a heart murmer - every time I applied for a job or insurance there was a referral for a medical.....celebrated my 60th racing at Brands last year
I'm sure you'll be fine! |

It's been a day on fiddly stuff, clips and pins to make sure hatch and bonnet stay shut. Porsche sure make tight tolerances, no space to fit them effectively! And are those cars tough...Broke/bent/melted all my drills!
Deceptively cold at Kerbside Racing, was glad when I was called inside to fix the shower in the bathroom. The Boy built up his TKM engine and SWMBO allowed him to use the warm utility room! he must have a sweeter smile than me |

David- leave it in as a brace Also had an odds and sods 924 day. Fuel filler stuff finished off but just got to get one different hose fitting to tidy up breather run. Have to buy some petrol this week and try refuelling! Will of course be wearing fireproofs, balaclava and gloves with similarly clad assistant holding 6kg dry powder ext in readiness. The missing steering wheel adaptor dropped though letter box yesterday, so thought would quickly fit new wheel. Wrong! First the adaptor was machined differently to the quick release so the Dremel (that was an impulse purchase and has proved to be a godsend on several occasions!) sorted that out. Then realised that wheel needs longer csk bolts to fit so ordered those. Temporarily mounted with other bolts found that wheel at different angle on column. To correct had to drop rack in order to relocate knuckle splines on pinion. While doing so marked position with white tyre marker pen, then promptly stood on that. New pen on order. Think wheel is on straight now....... While at front end of car decided to try out the aerosol paint bought off t'internet. Whipped off the badge panel and gave it a coat of primer. After allowng it to dry for at least 10 mins tried the 'Continental Orange' out. Superb match- must have guessed right. Only problem is, it is 'real' paint not like the stuff get in car shops, and smells like it. Very impressed though- and next day delivery to boot. Now just need to decide whether to paint bumper as well........ |

Alex, apologies for not responding to your post regarding the 924 for sale, but havn't got room for any more!
With all the F1 teams having their 2011 launches, thought it was about time the 'Team Nine to Four' 360MRC 6hr challenger was revealed, so here it is- There is also news on the driver front, and I am especially pleased that it is another tenther so far confirmed as joining me in driver duties. |
