Welcome to the 2022 Omicrom Championship!
Wonder what track configuration they will use at SMP? |

The short circuit takes out the majority of overtaking spots. Also some of the best corners.Invariably follow the leader racing. The extension is a joke. From the corner leading onto it to the corner rejoining the main circuit it is slow enough for a shopping centre car park. The land they used had great potential and could have been turned into something resembling the Waneroo bowl but from the moment I saw the earthworks I realised it was a complete waste of money. It is hardly ever used except when multiple hires force someone onto the Amaroo layout. The first time it was scheduled to be used as a combined track for a historic meeting in 2012 the competitors went and saw the organisers after the first set of practice and asked if they could be moved back on to the normal circuit which they were.Says it all really. |

Completely agree Alan, on both counts but particularly the extension - hugely wasted opportunity.
When it was first published with all the attendant fanfare, there was an upcoming Supercar round but they declined to use it - some in here branding them arrogant for that but they could simply see what was obvious - the extension was not good. |

Whoever thought a 4 race/4 round minimum in NSW was good idea, needs one of those surgical 2x4's to head...Paging Dr Hibbert!! |

Personally I hope this doesn’t mean the Creek will lose the final round. |

Oh no, however will the Champion be crowned anywhere else but at the Creek?? I wouldn't worry too much about them loosing that as chances are they'll be saying "Welcome to Round 6 of the Repco Sydney Motorsport Park Championship, and what is the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown live from Sydney Motorsport Park"...(insert fake crocodile at the end of the run-off of the main straight and a couple of drivers at Sealife Aquarium Sydney getting the big crocodile tank...) |

The primary objective was to lengthen the second circuit to make it more appealable to hiring out the back circuit, as well as it being more drift friendly. It was never designed with the primary objective to have Supercars using it on a very long lap. If it worked out then great, but Supercars not using it hardly makes it a waste being built. |

That is not the main point which is the topography existed to make a fast and exciting piece of circuit instead they built something that incredibly slow and disliked by anyone that had to compete on it. |
