Ahmad Al Khoayter won Toyota Autocross Championship second round

Ahmad Al Khoayter won the two-day second round of Toyota Autocross Championship 2010, which ended at Iskan Al Khobar racetrack on Thursday night.
Thirty-three car racing enthusiasts pitted skills in a marathon battle as each tried to score the maximum under the new points system of scoring. When the dust settled it was Al-Khoayter who led the podium winners clocking the best time of 00.54.690 in the Camry challenge stage on the second day.
Mohammed Al Ahmari Rocketed into Second place who was an expected outcome after his outstanding performance clocking 00.55.035.
Mansour Al Qahtani managed to squeeze himself into third place with .00.55.738 proved that he's still fighting to remain on the podium and he still has what it takes to win.
In the first group (SS) Mohammad Al Ahmary won (00:52:107) to move to the second stage. In the second group (AS) Husain Al Ahmadi won with 00:55:473. In the third group (DS) Abdulhadi Al Qahtani clocked 53:479. In the fourth group (BS) Ahmad Al Khoayter registered a best time without any mistakes 00:53:263. In the fifth group (CS), Mansour Al Qahtani won with 00:53:700. In the last group (FS) Ahmad Bakhashab clocked 01:00:157.
The Saudi Champion Ahmad Al Khoayter clocked the fastest time of the day in BS category and made his presence felt in the second round of the Toyota Autocross Championship 2010 at Iskan Al Khobar racetrack. This race was participated by 33 drivers, with each driver getting four races on the track.

Autocross is a branch of motor sport that involves driving a car anti-clockwise on a loose surface circuit. The competition took place on a temporary circuit. The race was very close from the beginning in each category. There were three stock categories for cars which were not modified and four categories for cars which were modified. The race started at 9:30 P.M. and continued till 12:30 A.M. The drivers reported on the track at 6:30 PM and after the technical inspections Amer Al-Nahdi, Race Director, briefed the participants.

This round attracted the highest number of newcomers in an event organized by Toyota Motorsports which runs these events on the format of Autocross racing based on rules and regulations derived from the pinnacle of motor racing rules.

The race saw Mohammed Al Ahmari and Mansour Al Qahtani, going neck and neck. Al Ahmari managed to be second with 00.55.035 and Al Qahtani third (.00.55.738). At the end, Al Khoayter won the competition, proving that he is the emerging talent in the Kingdom’s motor racing circle.

Sponsored by Toyota as main sponsor along with Mobil 1 oil and Arab Motors Channel (media sponsor), the mood was so thrilling during the competition. The event drew a large number of enthusiasts Kingdom wide. The prize distribution ceremony was held just soon after the race. All the winners in seven different categories were honored. [/IMG]

Anyone able to tell me in what country this Autocross took place?

Saudi??

I guess this isn't Autocross in the way Europeans know it but more like the Egyptian version of Autocross where people race two at a time on what amounts to a looped rally superspecial stage. That would account for the circuit completion time of less than a minute.

But someone else might know different?
