Careful with the promises, you'll find it's a wee bit more expensive than you might be used to for a drink. (Yes, even more that circuit prices at a GP)

Just was reading the embassy guidelines for Abu Dhabi and came across this

Quote:
Some prescribed and over the counter medicines that are available in the UK are considered to be controlled substances in the UAE. Any such medication is not allowed into the UAE without prior permission from the UAE Ministry of Health. If a passenger arrives in the UAE without prior approval and the required documentation, the medication will not be allowed into the UAE and the person may be subject to prosecution under the laws of the UAE.

The Embassy therefore recommends that you contact the Ministry of Health Drug Control Department (DCD) to check whether your medication is on the controlled list and as such requires prior permission for importation. The Customer Service Centre of the DCD can be contacted by e-mailing drugcl.csc@moh.gov.ae, by telephone on (00) 971 2 611 7240 or by fax (00) 971 2 632 7644.
Link to Embassy guidelines

Glad i checked as one of my prescriptions is on the controlled substance list.

No Letter for me. I'm going with Steve on the assumption that all letters sent out first were the acceptence letters. Not giving up hope yet though. Better half will really wind me up tomorrow as I'm off to Brawn GP factory after work tomorrow so won't find until tomorrow tea time.

No letter for me either so I will wait until tomorrow to see whether the postman shoves anything other than bills through my letterbox. Incidentally, what grades are those that have been accepted so far?

I had been going on a quite a promising alternate theory that all the acceptance letters received today were for people in the first half of the alphabet.....until Rich Vaux went and ruined it for me by getting one this morning too.
Apart from him, though, the names I know have one are Elson, Handley, Jordan, Hills + Robin_D and Stevie B from here who I assume in the first half. Those I know who haven't had anything yet, and who applied are Pearce, Poyton, Raine, Sutton, and Tarrant.
I'm still hoping that Rich's letter simply fell off the N-Z pile, yesterday, and that there is some hope left for those of us who are alphabetically challenged.

EDIT - I can't actually claim credit for this idea, as I saw it from Mike & from Pebbles first

Can anybody answer a question for me?
There seems to be plenty of people that got letters to say yes,
But has any body got a letter to say No rather than no letter in the post??
Im still waiting.

Not to my knowledge. I would imagine that the letters have/are being sent out in batches and will arrive over the next couple of days. Rejection letters are normally only sent out after all the acceptances have been received.
