thanks for the map, but would you please show on it the white line down the middle of it that Chairman Mao and the Committee of Seven have ordained to paint on the wonderful flowing lines of this honest to god racing circuit.

oh wait, I am mistaken, Mao and Minions do the straights and Senor Castro does the curves so the illustration is not ready. No worries if I cannot see it on the map, the neighborhood watch will secretly inform on where it is and any transgressions. Perpetrators will undergo a happy session of "Proper racecraft for the Masses" at the calm and beautiful accommadations of the re-education camp just outside Boise.

I don't have any times.

There is at least a slight chance that I will be up there for Saturday and Sunday. It just depends. If there is only one race weekend I can make this year, then I want it to be Petit Le Mans, but we'll see what happens.

IndyCar has allowed 27 cars for this year's Mid-Ohio race. They had the rule of 26 but revised it to allow 27. This is good.

Some notes: Mario Romancini is out for this race. During last week's tests at Mid-Ohio, Conquest Racing had Francesco Dracone testing in that #34 car.

I think it's all but decided that I WILL be up there Saturday and Sunday. Just look around for a short guy in a Road America, Mid Ohio, or Watkins Glen shirt, with glasses and a white cane. And I'll probably be wearing a small pair of binoculars around my neck.

Quite a good day, started late but got tons of photos of the Dyson Lola with the skin off. Great bunch of guys.

Met DF and his Mrs., that was a pleasure...nice guy, who is probably happier no where else than at the racetrack. Me too

Talked to a few bigs, most is off the record but there are mixed signals big time between the Series and team owners. The one thing everyone has in common is that every fourth word in converation is "money".

If you ever see Jon Beekhius at the track, talk to him. He's very willing to spend the time.

IndyCar ran just a one hour practice today, and nobody looked like they were flailing afterwards. Easy night for the boys, I think.

Highlight: Patron tequila girls. I hope the pic came out

The place looked great, paddock is swamped with all the ALMS and support series cars, and the weather will continue to be splendid for the weekend. Hope the racing is too.

Times were slow today, lots of sandbagging. I'm sure DF or somebody else will post the list...but Rahal #1 will not last long!
