The World Poker Tour. What the????
7am Mothers Day, Father and son sneak out in the morning for some boy time before Mum wakes up and the spoiling starts.
Quick buddy, let's watch the tape from Barbagallo last night, Daddy taped it this morning... Rewind tape, kettle on, coffees and milk made, and guess what. THE WORLD POKER TOUR, then an hour of that tall goose and his get the edge stuff. So where's my Barbagallo Race????????????? Checks program, sure enough 1:15am according to the paper. Now I know poker is full of sleight of hand, deception, trickery, it has Jacks, numbers and shady characters in dark glasses (and crap commentators) but V8 Supercar it is not. Well was it on or wasn't it? Never mind, the wife has just woken up. psssst want to buy an Anthony Robbins tape? |

Yes it did. This time my tv guide had it listed for 11pm.
The situation is becoming clearer though - V8s rate better than poker but worse than AFL and Big Brother... |

I was watching the FA cup final pre-match wrap and flicked over to see lap 25....
Is it going to be televised today at all - Race 1 that is. |

The best way to do it is set the video to start recording 1 hour before the advertised time and let the tape just run itself out on long play.
Hopefully the telecast will appear somewhere in those 8 hours. |

Im lucky enough to have a pretty good DVD recorder (one with a hard drive) that allows me to record heaps then edit out the stuff that I dont want.
As such I recorded from 10 PM to 4 AM to make sure I wasnt dudded. However I got home from a mates housewarming in time to watch the second half of the race and I dont think I saw an overtaking manouvre at all!! |

I tend to check the Channel 10 website on the Saturday, just to make sure. In SA it was advertised as being on at 10:30, straight after the AFL, and it was actually on at 10:30, straight after the AFL.

It was on at 10:30 up here after Brizroy vs Kennethorn. Perfect lead in to the Cup Final.

It also happened to the NZ round! It must have something to do with Southern Cross Ten, as im in the same tv coverage area as Average Punter i hope something happens so we actually get Winton's first race. Pick your act up Channel Seriously !!! |

I preumed that they would be replaying the first race on sunday like they did for NZ. so i turned off at 10.40 which was lap 8 here in SA thinking i was going to see the whole thing instead of a quick highlight package.

I'm with Rombles on this one.
I always check the 'seriously'.com website. It said 10.30pm for here on the Gold Coast, and voila, it was on at 10.30pm. I do know a few people that skipped it though, thinking seriously were going to show the race again on Sunday (as per NZ round). They were not very happy campers when they realised seriously decided to resort back to the ol' highlight package runs... What's going on here? Why do they show the whole race from one round and not the next? What can we expect from Win Ton? (I like that PVDA :-) !) |

oh i would be doing that (and i will be) the advertising of their sat night program has been poor, especially in round 2. they seemed to get it right in most place for round 3, but one hit and one miss means checks the tv guide and if you are out record at both times

I checked the TEN website about 10pm on Saturday night and it said 1:15am
So did our local rag, the Daily Advertiser. Obviously Southern Cross Ten changed their mind................ |

They have got the time advertised wrong for the two Saturday races, luckily my TiVo picked them both up.... well not so luck for the Perth race, that was pretty tough to watch the whole way through.
Ten do deserve a big thumbs up this year for keeping the BigBrother beast in check so far. Both F1 and MotoGp have been starting at the schedule time. Last year they must have averaged 30 minutes late. |
