scott fisher should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Brands superprix f2 race

I have been following this forum for some time and have now registered,We run a car in historic f2 having been in historic f1 masters pre 66 gt and gent drivers and we are avid historic racing enthusiasts.we are very dissapointed by the grids so far this year for historic f2 and look forward to a good grid at brands and the remaining races this year, but has anybody got an idea why we are missing the big f2 grids of the past, regards Scott

They are such great cars and loved by spectators and still represent reasonable (only in motor racing terms...) value for a quick and spectacular car.

I can only assume that low grid numbers are a reflection of the economy as there are lots of cars around but very few actually racing at the moment. If you have a car tucked away in the back of the garage to get it up and running is often not cheap if you factor in a new set of tyres, engine build etc.

There seem to be quite a few of the cars for sale at the moment and the asking prices seem to have crept up to £65k - £125k and maybe the prices are putting new entrants off ,as I am told by a pal in the car trade that F2's are difficult cars to sell and often seem to be bought by existing owners.

We will be out in our Brabham FA at Brands so fingers crossed for decent weather and a fun weekend.
