Castle Combe Carnival

Infiniti Motorsport are running 2 cars for the Castle Combe Carnival for myself and Johnny Lang.

Anybody else coming down from the NWFF or the SOM FF?

How many drivers will be taking part?

We'll probably be having some dedicated times in the chat room for all the banter about this and the other end of season events. Full details to follow!

It's still a while before we will see the entry list but I'd expect 40ish cars.

26 Mark Funnell - Swift SC95
28 David Fricker - Van Diemen RF92
30 Richard Tannahill - Swift SC94
32 Terry Kavanagh - Van Diemen RF92
37 Alexander Khateeb - Vector MG93

79 Matthew Docherty - Van Diemen RF88
89 Barry Whitehead - Reynard FF89
96 Gareth Hall - Van Diemen RF89

Class D:
84 Brian Rides - Ray FF86

These are confirmed entries received, not promises as other organisers often publish. Now if I were to publish the list of promises then there would be over 60 but I would seriously expect between 40 & 50 come 2nd October.

As can be seen from the list many of the regulars are still to enter.

If your name is not on the list then get your entry into BRSCC HQ a.s.a.p.

This will be the richest FF1600 race of the year, with the following massive prize fund available;

Final Overall;
1st - £750 + Trophy + Free entry to the FF Festival
2nd - £350 + Trophy
3rd - £200 + Trophy
4th - £150 + Trophy
5th - £100 + Trophy
6th - £75 + Trophy
7th - £60
8th - £50
9th - £40
10th - £25
Overall Pole Position - £50
Overall Fastest Lap - £50
1st new driver to finish in the final (ie. those with novice cross) - £100
A bottle of Champagne for the leader of each lap in the final, per lap (ie. 15 bottles!)
Driver of the race - Set of Avon ACB10's

Final Class A;
1st - 3 free race entries to rounds of the 2005 Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 Championship

Final Class B;
1st - 3 free race entries to rounds of the 2005 Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 Championship

Final Class C;
1st - £100 + Trophy + 3 free race entries to rounds of the 2005 Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 Championship
2nd - £50 + Trophy
3rd - £25 + Trophy
Class C Pole Position - £50
Class C Fastest Lap - £50

Heats (prize fund applies to both heats);
1st - £100 + Neil Bold voucher for £250
2nd - £75
3rd - £50
Fastest Lap - £50

Bonus Award - Free Pre-Race Test Day (worth £265) in 2005 for the driver considered most in need of it!

By my calculations this prize fund is worth approx. £6,000 and has been made possible by the hard-work of Castle Combe Circuit, Melton Concrete Products and the many support sponsors;
Kevin Mills Racing
Norton Press Printing
Richard Watkins & Associates
BRSCC
Sarik Vacform
Polepositions.co.uk
Avon Tyres
Tavern Events
Kerly Racing Engines
Neil Bold Engines
Castle Combe Racing School

But you have to be in it to win it!!!

Enter now and come and join us for what should be a fabulous event. Entry forms available from steve@brscc.co.uk

I have a few friends and family coming down to the Combe Carnival and I am looking to book them into a hotel. They want to spend about £60 - £80 per room per night.

Do any of the combe drivers now anywhere that is nice for that price and will have at least 3 rooms?

Try The Castle Inn

"Situated in the centre of this historic village, this 12th Century Inn boasts eleven wonderful bedrooms, each of which is unique in character.

Telephone: 01249 783030"

Stayed there in August, very nice and 1/2 mile from the track.

Dizzy.....

It is not my fault that I have nice young friends who are getting married all the time!!! I am just at that age when they all want to get married. I am sure it will slow down and turn into divorce parties soon!!

It is a bit like 30th birthdays, I have had about 20 this year...!

Anyway back to the topic - anymore news on entries mr sowman?

You can also include Tim Reynolds and Ed Moore as I am 99% certain that they are entering. A few regulars are still missing so there should be about another 5 or 6 making approx. 40 entries.

Johnny Lang for Infiniti entered on Monday so the BRSCC may not have got it yet so that is another one.

How does it work?

Is it like the Festival where you have an even split into 2 heats with the top 15 in each getting to the final?

I was planning to make my first visit to Combe for about 15 years, but it is looking very unlikely now. Shame.

If my engine is fixed I'll do the carnival, I'd love a good result this year, very dissapointed to pull out of mallory so yes, I'll be really trying to get out.

What emails, send them through and I'll respond.
