Verstappen, mainly because as he's getting older he seems to be becoming less of a hothead. Did everything right, and the way he kept Sainz at bay lap after lap was superb.

could have gone for Max or Carlos but it’s always gonna be Lewis for me at this track!

I'm not too sure, who to give it to. Leclerc for starting last and finishing 5th? Lewis for getting onto the podium? Super Max for a very mature drive, especially with Sainz pressuring him, or even Sainz, for driving a very solid race not giving up? I suppose Lewis, as it has been a difficult season so far for him and the hard work getting the car right is beginning to pay off. He was so pleased to get the 3rd place.

I will have to have a think. Plenty of drivers impressed. Ferrari were on the pace and Leclerc drove well from the back. Would have been on the podium if he had started further up. Sainz was probably sniffing a win there. Lewis made the most of an improved car, despite not being on the pace of the leaders. I’m sure there are a few others I could think of. Max for me just did a normal job, but he was really under threat from Sainz and was able to soak up that pressure. I’m tempted to give it to Lewis too, despite the fact I feel he hasn’t quite been doing justice to himself this year

Plenty of choices but I've gone for Leclerc. He made his way forward in a clearly traction-limited car and pulled of some pretty hairy overtakes along the way, didn't give up and achieved a reasonable result overall.

I thought all 3 on the podium drive very well indeed. Went for Hamilton this time.

I voted for Leclerc, but had Schumacher not dropped out he would have been a contender for the accolade after a promising early showing.I have never previously noticed him doing well and since his team-mate was in the mix,I expect the cars have moved up a notch.

I decided to go for Leclerc. And yes Schumacher did do a good job, but could he have stayed there? Certainly he's better than his results show, but he has struggled quite a bit against his team mate. But yes, Haas did seem to take a step forward, even if the car has been quite good this year

Sainz
Tossup between him and Max but gave it to Carlos because he had a few demons from the previous races. |

not necessarily through any fault of his own (either poor strategy by the team or incident filled races or a race being called before the full number of laps being run), Sainz in 2nd is becoming a common theme.
needs to drop that monkey! |

I like Carlos, so I wanted to vote for him. If he could have pulled off the win, I definitely would have. But Max did everything required so he gets my vote. Lewis, Charles and Joe all well so respect to them. It was a pity to see Fred slipping down the order.

I'm giving it to Carlos. He's had a demoralising season so far and he was very close to a first win this time. It was largely a stroll in the park again for Max.

a stroll in the park with a faster car in your mirrors and within a second behind for 15-16 laps is not exactly a stroll in the park....

I disagree Nobby - at what point did Carlos actually look as though he could try a pass? Max was in total control. A great driver in what is clearly a superior car. I expect him to win the WDC this year at a canter.....

I think there were good performances by Max and Carlos, and even though it was quite likely Max would win it was at least entertaining. I think Hamilton did well and the Alpine cars both ended up where Alonso himself said their true pace was, and they got good points, well done.
I saw some good driving by Guanyu Zhou and Alex Albon, which was nice. Leclerc did a good comeback drive. But, Mr. consistency himself George Russel gets my vote for this race. He has managed to get Mercedes back in the game with his consistent points scoring. Really, really impressive. |

Zhou has just been getting on with it quietly. Being steady without making mistakes. His drive in Canada was very good though.

I expect him to step it up a bit next year. It looks like he is getting the time to mature while everyone is busy talking about Mick.

I think it's probably more to do with the fact people are focusing on his team mate Bottas' performances
