Anglesey - Season Opener March 26th

I've heard today at the Autosport show that there will be another Anglesey date added to the NW championship.

The season opener, I have been informed will be March 26th at Anglesey. For a 1 day only meeting. Not a weekend event.

I'm sure that official confirmation will come out via the normal channels but hot off the press for those not at the show today.

This is from two extremely reliable sources who had just "done the deal"

It's a bit of a busy start to the season with the first Oulton round being 6 days later, but it's another meeting in the calender.

I just wondered what anyone else's thoughts were on this?

I'm looking forward to it.

Mind you the official confirmation will be when diz puts it on his tag line.

Should be good - a nice relaxed way to open the season

26th is the same day as the BRSCC MS opener at Mallory...its sure to undermine grid sizes there. No chance of grabbing a few wandering NW'ers now

small gripe!

So we begin the season with two (three if you include the GH) races in quick succession, then wait nearly two months for round three. . . . surely they could fit a Donnington in at the end of April / begining of May???

Come on Jim, Diz has worked hard for you guys to get another date so support him. You will never get the perfect championship for all drivers. Donny would have been nice for you all but you have a good set of dates at Oulton and 4 rounds at Anglesey so should be a good Championship.

SOme drivers might like the break to save up or mend cars!!

That will be good. It did seem abit odd when I first saw the calendar, with only 1 Ang weekend down. And if we do get that date, will be my first 'back to back' meeting whilst involved in FF.

Is anyone doing the dedicated FF test at OP on the Fri 17th March?

PS, Autosportshow wer good.

Reason for only one Anglesey date originally was indeed that the BRSCC have only one meeting there this year. Shame about that gap, but there was a much bigger one in SoM the other year. There are a few options for alternative races in the gap if you get bored...

Maybe I should sell up and go and race a bathtub with a tea tray glued on!!!

Only joking, it was only a small gripe, not a dig at Diz!!! If i'd wanted to do that i'd have made a rude remark involving cakes!

Still no "Official" word on the date despite your attempts to lure Diz in this covert manner....SNEEKY.....Come on Diz.....Can you announce it yet? aLSO, will it be 1 or 2 races?.........Your public awaits with baited breath....(err..Not sure of spelling of baited)

I think Diz was at the show again Lee so he will not be able to reply. I am sure ff1600.co.uk will have the news as soon as it is in

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet about the status or number of the FF1600 races taking place at Anglesey on March 26.

Not technically true IAn. And I have it on very good source(!)

As far as everyone was concerned, Anglesey had 2 and maybe 3 meetings. The BRSCC upto now, only decided to use one.

We were being tapped up for a visit to Rockingham for this season?????

I don't think so.........................................

Well, the fact is that the BRSCC are only running one race meeting at Anglesey this year. Which is why NW FF1600 only has one meeting there in the confirmed calendar. The reason that I have heard... well it did involve Rockingham, in a different way to the one you mention, but I couldn't fathom the logic of it in any case!

######### WAIT FOR FULL DETAILS IN THE NEXT DAY OR THREE ############
What I can say is that NW will now be 14 rounds on 10 dates, not 9 rounds on 7 dates

Please be patient and don't speculate.

Speculate, to accumulate!

We have speculated and accumulated more race dates. Hey presto.
