Lotus Evora is equipped with a radar detection system used in the Daytona 24h race.
It shows the direction and distance of the car that overtakes from behind. It costs about 3 million yen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLCRDa5Rr7Y |

Seeing "Modulo" logo on the car, that must be from Modulo Drago Corse. |

Falken owner is Sumitomo rubber (Dunlop Japan).
And It seems that Nakajima racing operated this NSX GT3. Nakajima is Dunlop user in GT500. It is natural collaboration. |

Probably MC. That's because they can carry over several parts.

My apologies, the doc has both sets of regulations on the same page but I zoomed it straight away and I did not notice I was reading the 2019 regs. Thank you for the heads up.
That's right ! Engine must be in front. That's a big change. I am very surprised that Honda finally bowed to that after resisting for so long. I am not sure I like that so much. Or will Honda have a waiver? 搭載されるエンジンは、車室より前部に配置されなければならない。 Sent from my BLA-L29 using Tapatalk |

I suppose the Civic coupe (which I think is US exclusive right now though?) fits the Class 1 dimensions okay, but yeesh at both that or a front engine with an NSX body.

Y'know, we've been through this situation before when the GTA decided to ban mid-engined cars back in 2009, which lead Honda to create the HSV-010 in time for the 2020 season.

The HSV-010 was in development as a road car to replace the NSX years before the rules changed. Rather the new generation rules were almost certainly written with it already in mind and the race car was probably already in development at the same time (ergo that exhaust that made a V8 sound like a V10) but it was canceled in the meantime.
On the other hand up until this point we've had no reason to believe Honda is making any kind of front engine sports car let alone one that will be out in the next few months, and there's no need for one in the road lineup when they currently have an NSX. |

Well, at least the NSX will live on as a mid-engined car competing in GT300.
Still, it's sad that the days of having a mid-engined car competing in GT500 is over. |

There is a supposed S2000 redo coming up, maybe Honda takes that and says it has plans to make another S2k in the near future like the road HSV (that sadly never came to be).

I wouldn’t be surprised, they’ll be eager to show off a new car in time. But we’ll see on this one

Why is apr Prius struggling this season?
JAF-GT300 is basically light-weight and low power. On the other hand, FIA-GT3 is heavy-weight but high power. However, the Prius has become FR, so it is heavy, and the air restrictor is the size of GT300 even though it uses GT3 engine. So, the revision of the tech regulations in 2020 will give a larger air restrictor size to heavier JAF-GT300 vehicles. http://jaf-sports.jp/cms_file/cms/cm...8326_00003.pdf |

Oh that's good to know. It's kind of strange seeing the #31 as a backmarker this year.

Race day press conference by GTA <Part.2>
https://car.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1206009.html *About auto sport Web Sprint Cup -Currently, the number of participants is 10 cars or more. I want at least 15 cars to participate. If the driver is approved by the GTA, drivers outside the series can participate. We will limit the tire set to a maximum of 5 sets by regulations for cost reduction. *About Sepang round and Thailand round in 2020 -The Sepang round will be held as night races on July 17-18. -Thailand round will be held on July 4-5. -The issue of the Thailand round are logistic fees and organizer fees. Whether or not the Thailand Round will be held depends on whether cost reduction will be successful. *About 2020 GT500 cars -We will launch Toyota "GR Supra", Honda "NSX" and Nissan "GT-R" on Sep.11. -All cars will conform to Class 1 regulations. Honda also develops vehicles that comply with the Class 1 regulations. |

That's some rather dangerous pit lane shenanigans as all the GT500 teams pitted to beat the safety car. Hopefully no pit lane crew were hurt in that hot mess.
