Great gig! How many seconds into the warm up lap will it take for you to check your mirrors!

That's one of the coolest jobs I can imagine. From a marshal perspective, what is the passenger seat position about?

It's the Safety Car Observer role. Two people in the car: driver + observer. Driver, um, drives; observer handles all the comms, takes instruction from race director and passes it to driver, provides feedback to race director on circuit conditions (fluids, debris, grip levels etc), what the racing cars behind are doing such as whether we've got the leader and whether the train is strung out, and does all the hand-wavey stuff when doing any "let these cars past" wave-bys. Very, very occasionally observer may be asked to provide written reports (like post chiefs do at marshal posts). Oh, and operate the lights, which is fairly important!

There's occasional tea and cake, but not during races. Tea spills too easily under braking.

TL;DR: long periods of doing nothing interspersed with short periods of abject terror!

I can imagine, far too much work to run full season in all three. Either way it’ll be nice to see a new team in GT3 for some races

Its the same team that ran the 488 Challenge at Donington last year for British GT.

It will be John Seale and Jamie Stanley in the lambo.

Ooh - a Porsche for GT3 as well:

https://www.britishgt.com/news/475

Shamus Jennings and Greg Caton to drive. Good to see a Porsche back - it's been odd not having one recently. There should always be a Porsche in GT racing!

so we have 3 of the 4 Germans, all three British, 1 of the 2 Italian brands, we are just missing an Audi, Ferrari, and the Japanese makers.

So two more announcements in GT3 this week, we have 12 cars currently, with those two more announcements we will have a minimum of 14 cars in GT3.

Add the 1 GT Cup, and the 20 GT4, and that gives us 35, with a grid capacity of 36.

So theres the JMH Lamborghini that will show up for some races, theres Optimum who havent declared, but may join, and also Tolman havent declared anything yet.

None of the 4 British GT Mclaren GT juniors have been placed yet, theres a empty Mclaren at HHC but there will still need to be an additional Mclaren 570s GT4 on the grid to field the other two. Unless of course they run them in GT4 Euro instead.

Interesting position, possibly some big changes for regular teams if its going to fit the 36 car capacity

Only 1 Bentley ??? Or is that likely to be the Friday GT3 update ? I like how it's looking for this year already, we always get to Silverstone round & Finale @ Donnington, but might have to look into getting to more rounds this year.

Could be, they did say they were working on a second car.

Tolman also havent declared yet, definitely a Mclaren programme, GT3 or GT4, but not necessarily in British GT

Also British GT said that the 36 car capacity MAY not be applied this year.
