I still can't believe that these meetings are arranged to clash at race circuits so close to each other.. I guess some things will never change!

I'll be at Combe, although it's always painful driving past Thruxton when I know there's a race meeting on..

sadly we have had to pull out due to engine problems but the engine is at Racing Fabs and will be ready for the Donington round. Very sad news as I love Castle Combe but hopefully will ensure us being on the pace for the rest of the season!

I'll be at Thruxton - Group One and Classic Thunder. And if the Golf breaks down again I will DEFINIETLY be setting fire to it.

Entry list at Castle Coombe looks fantastic, especially the soulful 70s saloons. I spent four happy years driving round in an Alfa 1600 GT Junior, just wish I could afford to race one.

although academic as I cant now race I think my entry should be a Cloth Cap rather than a Sebring Salute as I am not aware of Merlyns racing there... maybe someone could clarify for future rounds

The entire fuelling system is being dismantled over the next two days to work out why fuel flow stops after 10 mins but pressure remains, resulting is a massively lean mixture and lots of melted pistons.

The problem now is that even once we've fixed that (if we do) the rest of the car has had no attention at all in three years - so I'm expecting all kinds of new things to start falling off.

Back in 2001 in a previous incarnation the car did a 1.36.8 around Thruxton in the G1, I'll be happy to break 1.40 on Easter Monday.

That's the problem. He gets to drive it more than me!

Good luck Chris.

Blimey Pete, paying him to fix it is one thing, but paying him to thrash it as well . . . .you must be nuts

I've just fitted a new close ratio straight cut gearbox to my car, and a 4.7 diff to make the most of the new 7500-8000RPM engine. I'll finish servicing the anchors tonight . . . and few final checks . . . .starting to get excited now.
